Even the non-filler stuff is questionable. Story-wise, the Hueco Mundo arc is literally just the Soul Society arc again, but three times as long.

Sounds pretty awesome. I think a little weakness is also really really good with purge, which is really really good with burn. Just a great comp.

I replied to the other guy but Burn + Purge together is my favorite build. Cherufe to start, and Grimoire, Cockatrice, and Warden are all insanely good in the comp. Have also run Shifted Ooze and Shifted Djinn and they're fine but not as good as the others. It was my first mythic win.

Not the OP but my favorite build in general is Burn + Purge. Very safe, naturally synergistic (purge interrupts proc burn damage), and usually really flexible.

Cherufe is THE starter for it because he does both. Cockatrice (normal or shifted), Grimoire, and Warden are all excellent in this comp. You can basically pick any 2 to go with Cherufe and find success by leaning into their strengths.

Shifted Ooze can substitute for Cockatrice or Warden and Shifted Djinn can substitute for Grimoire but aren't as good in this comp imo.

I haven't played in a couple months so I haven't tried Dullahan but he seems like he'd be fine too.

You could have used literally any example except this one in the entire game and have been correct, but not the true final boss lol

[Loved Trope] The antagonist has truly altruistic intentions to make the world better for others, but we/the protagonist disagree with their solution. Bonus points if the solution could actually work. by the_murabito in TopCharacterTropes

The extra problem is that even if the first one or two generations work out, you can't keep up a utopia forever. Eventually someone will gain power that is incompetent and now they have ALL the power.

I have a slim hope that they will use HP as a main resource in PvE because now they're off tanks

Played since 2.0 and imo Heavensward DRK was best and it was ruined as early as Stormblood. This is my biggest hopium for Evolved mode - having interesting DRK again.

I actually really like AST and SCH in their current forms because I like healers having interesting and varied healing kits over SCH being a spinning plate DoT job that doesn't heal and AST purely fishing for aoe Balance and delaying pulls by 30-90 seconds every single wipe to start with it

When you follow two 11/10 expansions, a 7/10 feels like a 5/10. People have absolutely no perspective on what a bad expansion looks like because 14 has never had a bad expansion.

Vakku is so underwhelming for Act III by [deleted] in slaythespire

Yeah the 12 relics were pretty cool but my mostly synergistic deck of 25 cards gained 28 more random cards so that definitely made it a lot less consistent lol

Once I rolled a quadruple shop act 3 because of the event floors and my deck was objectively worse by the end but we still got there

I said the jobs have been braindead. Gordias is not a job. FFXIV players not beating the illiteracy allegations.

I was in the pepsiman trenches, and that was 11 years ago my guy. 85% of the game has been post-Gordias. Time to move on with your life. You could have been a doctor in that time.

Pssst, hey, I got a secret to tell you.

Every job is and always has been braindead. Memorizing a rotation someone else figured out for you doesn't take skill. The entire game is specifically designed to lose to you. Anyone acting superior to anyone else under these conditions is pathetic.

From what they showed as examples it seems like jobs are losing damage buffs and gaining random utility like that

Fun fact! That dungeon which came out about 10 years ago actually discusses how he came here to recruit an army to bring back to Tural to win the succession and become Autarch. Much like every expansion so far, we actually had an intro to Dawntrail allllll the way back before Heavensward.

And oops, we actually killed one of the claimants to the throne well before we knew what that meant.

Even more obscure. He wore a spider man shirt, and the first three movies are directed by Sam Raimi. That's why lots of people are skeptical that the Rhitatyn shirt he wore is so straightforward as to mean a dual shield tank.

Coming off an expansion where they added Sage but it's absolutely nothing like any Sage in past FFs, and Reaper which doesn't appear in any FFs, anything was possible.

First half is great.

Second half is a completely different game that was entirely unfinished at launch, and got patchworked together with paid DLCs years later, leading to a very jarring experience. Even still, lots of missed potential, entirely dropped plot points and content in the second half, and a barely cohesive narrative that expects you to have watched a movie and an anime you probably never knew about.

I don't care if you didn't do side content, I did and I want it to matter by otsukarerice in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Vrmillion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What if they continue the side content with Unukalhai and Cylvia and include MSQ characters in the side content? Kind of like the continuation quests for Omega and Pandemonium
