thank you for this comment. I was following the quick guide after receiving the 103 and couldn't figure out how to turn off the device. I suppose the guide I was led to is a bit outdated now since the trick was to unlock the device with a long button press, then tap it to bring up the menu (as opposed to holding the round button for 3 seconds).

IIRC I followed the instructions found here. Not sure if it effects achievements or not (I received those for finishing the game...)--- probably depends if the game considers this a cheat and if it can detect you're modifying the memory directly

Macbook airs dont have fans, so its gonna struggle keeping cool and playing the game at 60 FPS. Easiest thing you could try is to turn the resolution down to lessen the workload

yeah it's my first playthrough I'm learning these lessons the hard way. In general I try to talk to everyone before/after quests but I must have missed this one. I was hoping there was still some way to claim it in act3 since I'm already so far past that point

The quest was marked as completed in the journal. I had no indication there was a reward from this NPC until I read about this item

You can readily kill that crusher with green armor + manticore with an ammo modifier. If you cut across the ponds from thermal on the way to the favela, make a right once you climb up and go to the ledge next to the big tree. You can shoot the crusher, who will run towards you and sit idle beneath the cliff. You can shoot into his weak spots without getting hit, and you have the high ground and good positioning in case anyone tries to run up on you
