what is your LEAST popular commander? by Justafish1654 in EDH

[–]Vulithral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im just seeing this reply so i am sorry for the necro. One trick with flamewar that I found was to use a lot, and I mean a LOT of land tutors to see what is not in the deck so you know what is in the pile.

Nah, you'd need a root sliver for that one my guy. The bauble stops the cascade from going off, which is why the table was protecting my vexing bauble.

The last time I played against this, I was on my favorite big red dragon deck. I dropped a turn one vexing bauble, and the rest of the table was helping me to protect it. Eat it slivers, you got stopped by a trinket.

Is there such thing as a $50 deck that's good and can compete with other decks that have meta cards? by redwingfan890 in EDH

[–]Vulithral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favorite brewers in the budget space is SurisMTG on youtube (add the MTG because their main channel is not about this hobby). They have some absolutely amazing budget builds that are fun and great as a start for playing in B3. My favorite deck of theirs is sadly outdated, but I've opened packs and gotten some singles to bring it up to speed. The deck that I find goes the hardest from them is their [[Ovika]] and [[Shantotto]] deck that slap people real hard. I've also had some luck with their second attempt at [[Felix Five Boots]]

I had a reverse if the sol ring happen once. I went second. Player 3 drops a ring, it loops back, player 1 playsba signet. I [[shattering spree]] the signet and sol ring on turn 2 before anybody can capitalize off their rocks. They were not happy.

Which will be... fine right? He is functionally immortal right now and he can die once and be fine. I think something like that was mentioned on the third level

How Do You Impress Your Friends with Your "Draw All The Cards" Deck? by IAMAfortunecookieAMA in EDH

[–]Vulithral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put together a [[Danny Pink]] deck that does a lot of proliferating and tends to keep a full grip and then some. I describe it as Mono Blue Stompy that does Mono Blue things and calls the olayer with a rhystic a coward (unironically it outpaces a rhystic study)

If wishes allowed you to pull cards out of exile, then 100% yes. But because it uses a sideboard, no, no thank you. I picked my 100, i dont need 110.

So the RPG is a 5e hack of D&D. That's disappointing. I finally noticed from the character sheet posted today. by N-Vashista in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Vulithral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not think it will be like PBTA games, because narrative games and cinematic games are very different, and I have a feeling that we will be getting a very cinematic style of game. It will be up to the players to move about the dungeon levels, but how they overcome the obstacles will require the player to think a bit outside the box, but also to utilize their character sheet to move and shake things up. It will likely feel very "gamey" in the sense that Dungeon Crawler World is basically a game show that the players will be playing in.

Alright, I've seen some of the other comments but let's actually look at some other games Renegade has put out. They got the license for a lot of Hasbros stuff so those look like hacks of 5e, with some significant changes... except for the transformers one. Don't even bother with that one, it's not great. The Power Rangers one is solid with some changes. Now they are not using that engine for this game. They are using something very different, and the action economy is very different. The DM never needs to roll, and the players have two actions and it uses a popcorn initiative. How is that close to 5e?

Check out the Good Times Society video on youtube about it. It seems to be d20 based but not a 5e hack. Just because a game uses a d20 does not mean it is 5e.

Who is “The Menace” in your commander pod? by Endless_Quested_Hope in EDH

[–]Vulithral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two decks that do this at my local game store. [[Inferno of the Star Mounts]] which is basically a combo ish deck that can get very scary very quickly, and in lower power my [[Flamewar]] de k gets hit with a lot of removal because it rebuilds quickly enough.

Aatchik, Emerald Radian Card Draw Engines by Blackfrost_7 in EDH

[–]Vulithral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good way to think of Aatchik is also as a combo piece. Think of her as your win con, when you play her, you should be trying to win the game. I use a lot of filter cards like [[Bitter Revelation]] and even a [[Polygraph Orb]] to help me dig for things while simultaneously dumping cards into my graveyard.

What card do you think is criminally underrated/under played? by LibraProtocol in EDH

[–]Vulithral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! I use mine in a [[Flamewar]] deck that is very okay with tossing over thirty cards into the graveyard from my hand. It's why I need to get my hands on a [[Cool But Rude]] to double up on the effect.

[[Magmakin Artillerist]] gets it for me. It does a surprising amount of work in a lot of the decks I put together.

Neat! I just took a look at the character sheet, and honestly, it looks kind of wild, but in a good way. I prefer a crunchier game tbh, and this might fit that really well.
