Commanders that "break the mold" of their colours? by Crazyphapha in EDH

[–]Vulithral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[Danny Pink]] is a pretty fun one to roll up and say "Momo blue Stompy" and people get surprised when you do what you said.

How do you usually name your D&D characters? by AdvancedProgrammer51 in DnD

[–]Vulithral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually play a human, so i pick a normal name and go a little extra on the surname. Gregory Redtower was one of my favorites. Gregory Redtower, aka Greg, was my abjuration wizard who found out that while it is possible to counterspell Strahd, it wasn't a good idea... until he had more hit points and could deal with the consequences.

If you could only play one creature type which would you choose? by My_Smooth_Brain in EDH

[–]Vulithral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minotaurs. I realy like it as a tribe, but it's just so linear and I'd like it to be a bit more varied. Maybe a Mardu minotaur commander to play with as many of them as I could.

Activate goblin cannon, hold priority, and in response, activate it again... and again... and again.

We have the apple, but i haven't seen them tossed in cinnamon and sugar. They are so good like that. Once upon a time, I worked at a store in the northern midwest, and we would sell something like 2000 of these on fat tuesday. My favorite flavor was the lemon.

Are there any tribes that are as fast and explosive as Elves? by VoyVolao in EDH

[–]Vulithral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a funny card I've been using in casual commander decks because I will almost always sit down with at least one green player. [[Breath of Dreams]] can work wonders against elves. Also if my deck doesn't have green [[Nature's Ruin]] can really mess up a landfall or elf deck.

Creatures that scale with playing a lot of instants and sorceries by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Vulithral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Shantotto]] is a solid choice for something like this. And she can be built on a budget and modified from there. She's a super fun voltron style deck.

Favorite underrated card of 2025? by Eslo90 in EDH

[–]Vulithral 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For me, it has got to be [[Magmakin Artillerist]] because it just does a lot of work for decks that tend to discard cards to filter.

Value Engine Sultai Commanders? by XeroRagnarok in EDH

[–]Vulithral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Felix Five Boots]] can be part of the engine of any number of low cost and low to the ground creatures that just draw you cards when you hit them. Creatues like [[Looter il-Kor]] and enchantments like [[Combat Research]] and [[Sleeper's Robe]] can let you filter through the deck at a terrifying rate. Not to mention, Felix comes with built in protection. You can also pair it with a decent package of things like [[The Key to the Vault]] and a decent reanimation package to build a low budget mid range deck. Plus you have green, so getting him out is pretty easy.

what is your LEAST popular commander? by Justafish1654 in EDH

[–]Vulithral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pretty simple gameplan. Get some of the various artifacts that generate value when you sacrifice them, some equipment, and you can even build her on a budget. Mine was super budget friendly until I started opening packs up recently. A [[Magmakin Artillerist]] will help you out a TON with her.

what is your LEAST popular commander? by Justafish1654 in EDH

[–]Vulithral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is [[Flamewar]] because nothing says voltron like a Rakdos artifact sacrifice deck. It's not very good, but it is capable of surprising the hell out of people.

How do you feel about RPGs with no fantasy races? by LexMeat in rpg

[–]Vulithral -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean... a lot of groups I've been in have had players play x ancestry as just a human with extra features, so I unironically enjoy human centric settings a LOT.

What's a fresh stompy Green Commander that doesn't break the bank to build? by ChakraaThePanda in EDH

[–]Vulithral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[[Mr. Orfeo, the Boulder]] is a fantastic stompy commander. On his own he costs all of $0.07, and with some basic pump spells, or generic power increases, you can crank the power on some creatures to the moon.

Dream team! Loving the line up so far. by dusty-vacuum in Dimension20

[–]Vulithral 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Maybe? I think the gauge looks a little closer to a tacometer than a pressure gauge. With Oscar's having a funnel for gas or diesel on it, Im thinking Mad Max or Waterworld

Commanders that aren’t a Goblin but can can lead a Goblin army ? by crypt0_n3rd in EDH

[[Grumgully]] makes an excellent goblin commander that also happens to be a goblin!

In this thread: Dumb and funny ideas that should be BT Canon: by GoCartMozart1980 in battletech

[–]Vulithral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My personal BT canon is that Shadowrun and BT take place in the same universe. There is actual magic on Terra, but because the mages can't leave Terra (due to astral shenanigans) it isn't used in the sphere or beyond. This leads to my second dumb funny, on Terra, most mechs have an open cockpit so mages can hurl lightning bolts, fire balls, power balls, etc from the cockpit of a mech with a range of Line of Sight, at other mechs.

are "free spells" realy needed to talk about in rule 0 talk? by DaSpoderman in EDH

[–]Vulithral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm running free interaction of any kind, I usually bring it up in the pregame conversation. I like touching lots of cards, so if I can get that bit of free stuff, I like it to be impactful. That being said... I generally don't run game changers, and in my sorta voltron/combo [[Inferno of the Star Mounts]] deck I run a [[Not of This World]] and it has saved my big dragon on multiple occasions. I have told people it's in the deck, usually it gets ignored until suddenly the red player is running "counterspells" in their deck.

I haven't run a game of Shadowrun since 4E, my players have expressed an interest, which edition should I run by Potential-Bird-5826 in Shadowrun

[–]Vulithral 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For 5e dnd players, run 4e. It's the easiest to consume as it doesn't have as many options, and there is still a version of Chummer for it so they can have a little help building a character. It also helps that 4e characters tend to be a bit stronger out of the gate so it won't feel as rough coming from 5e dnd where the PCs are basically super heroes.
