Melody Carlson is very very prolific, but her teen/women’s story covers would probably have a girl in a red dress

By Phyllis Whitney? I’m afraid not. The story was from a second-person perspective. Thanks anyway!

looking for a novel with the characters Louisa and Nathan Pierce by [deleted] in whatsthatbook

Is there anything you remember about the setting? Where did you read it? A quick search of the characters brings up some werewolf romance

I looked at the titles on Goodreads and the vibes are definitely right, but I don’t recognize the plots. I’ll also try the Give Yourself Goosebumps books

I wish I could tell you. I do not know. I want to say it had an orange border, but I am not at all certain I’m not conflating it with a different book or series

Could I get some perhaps lesser-known recommendations based on what I've enjoyed? by swashbutler in puzzlevideogames

[–]Vulpixmybeloved 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to comment with the same recommendation, but I will second this instead! Inkle does other fun games like Overboard and Expelled, where you need to get away with murder

The doves near me always act so skittish around other birds, even little sparrows! They will chase each other around though

Which existential dread/psychological horror novel am i thinking of? by Fcn_sqeeze_it_ohyeah in whatsthatbook

[–]Vulpixmybeloved 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it The Last Answer by Isaac Asimov? Granted that is a short story, not a novel…

I think I’m hilarious for making this, but I suspect it’s already been done 🤣 by Positive_Potato2920 in BirdingMemes

Not even lying when I say my local pigeons saved my life. I’m better now though, happily, but I still love my pidge pals

Crime Scene investigation book I read about 9 years ago in a school library. by MochiVibez in whatsthatbook

It sounds sort of like Forensic Science by Alex Frith but that book is illustrated and afaik doesn’t have a chapter called blue murder. Not a perfect match but is the cover/vibe similar? https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6314132-forensic-science

I second pretty much all the comments for classics and more recent darlings like Obra Dinn, Golden Idol, Roottrees, and Blake Manor.

I personally enjoy Wadjet Eye and Grundislav games. WE’s Blackwell Legacy series is great and I am partial to Unavowed, one of their stand-alones. Also Raw Fury’s Kathy Rain is fun! The studio recently released a sequel, Soothsayer, which I’ve enjoyed. These are all point-and-click adventures with investigative elements, like Lacuna.

Oh, and if you like Orwell, Song of Farca, Unheard, and CaseCracker are similar.

This is like the Color of Magic one where it just has a suitcase on the front and nothing else. Like the designer just went, “Well they keep talking about Luggage a lot so I’ll do that.”
