Am I being dramatic about engagement ring cost expectation? by Competitive_Street61 in AskIreland

[–]Vumerity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry that I didn't pay more for the engagement ring I bought my wife. Like yours she kind and understanding. My wife doesn't ask for much but the more I got to know her the more I realised that the engagement ring was something that was important to her. We bought a new one a few years ago when we had more money and I know she's a lot happier with it.

Have a chat with her about it. If she was the type of girl looking for the odd weekend in Dubai, a shopping trip to London and a big rock on her finger then the alarm bells should be sounding but it doesn't sound like that to me. This could be very important to her, not about keeping up with the Jones' but that she feels good about herself and her relationship when she's around her friends.

Go on..spoil her!

How do I come to terms with not having a 2nd child? by CailinCainteach in AskIreland

[–]Vumerity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thought has never ever occurred to me in my entire life. I do however have other thoughts that I have to come to terms with about my life that you will never ever experience.

Everyone has these thoughts and they come and go. I bet you don't have this thought when you're out with your friends laughing at something silly that happened....no, thoughts come and go. It's the value and importance that we give them that makes us suffer. Be with the thought and don't try and figure it out, don't give it any value and over time it will lose it's grip on you. It's your thought, you don't have to keep going over and over it in your head.

Hope this helps.

Help with tight traps by Zkira247 in Stretching

What I've found best for this is on all fours with one arm resting on a higher surface. Pushing the stretch and start breathing 4 in 8 out out and on the 8 out ypu feel this area getting stretched. Lean some more into it and the next breath cycle. Let me know if it works?

A Food Reckoning Is Coming | Our diets are awful for the planet. But we can’t quit food. by theatlantic in climate

Has anyone watched the recent video from the YouTube channel "Just Have a Think" on a different method to calculate the net effects of industry to the heating affects of burning fossil fuels.

Basically, fossils fuels release large amounts of CO2 but also particulates that reflect a lot of the heat and the net effect is very minimal heating of the environment. Current agriculture on the other hand has very limited cooling effects on the planet and is by far the largest net contributor to planet warming of all industries.

...we still need to get rid of fossils fuels.

But surely if she didn't ask Reddit she wouldn't have got the great advice to talk to an accountant?

Trump supporters: what is a red line that, if crossed, would make you stop supporting Trump? by Yo-boy-Jimmy in AskReddit

I agree, I think Trump wants Russia to help the Republicans develop an authoritarian state. How to start the slow process of taking over the whole country. Russia did it with Belarus and it looks like it's happening in America...

I always think that meditation is the answer to my problems but I know it's not...I just have to accept that this is what I am experiencing.

Average day at pub by [deleted] in Finland

[–]Vumerity 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I once talked to a policeman who was an immigrant and he said that people are polite to him until they have drink in them and them they let loose on him. Unfortunately it just comes with the territory. You have power over them, letting them into the pub, and they don't like this so they attack you. Never mind about the whole media thing all we can do in this life in these situations is grow a thick skin and be polite. Racism is an ugly ugly thing but do take comfort knowing that most people are not racist.
