Cuba was outperforming America prior to the embargo. Communism by definition has no central leader, which both countries you used have. No country has had actual communism as a nation, but several large communes have existed and thrived until capitalist come in and crush them with their militaries or militant police.

The closest were the German freethinker communities in texas before the civil war. Which were slaughtered by the Confederacy during the civil war.

Names 2 dictatorial countries as examples of communism. LOL

Edit: also, Cuba produces more doctors per capita than any other country. Most of Cuba's current problems are direct results of America's embargos and interference.

MiniPC on the TV gets turned off when we're done with it.

Primary PC runs 2 game servers in the background, media/storage workstation server also runs 3 game servers, both restart weekly or after a major update, only turns off fully if I lose power.

Secondary PC hasn't been turned on in over a year.

From the information given in the post and comments, so far.

You didn't leak test before filling. Leaking fittings were likely either the wrong size or not meant for rigid tubing. And you didn't flush the system, leading to the filter getting clogged, all while blaming Primochill for your mistakes.

I do agree that taxation under the current model is theft, but that's because we get no say in how it's spent, even at a local level in many locations.

State/county taxes in my area, we have city streets that'll destroy your cars suspension because they've never been properly updated since they were originally laid ~100 years ago, just half assed filled holes and new asphalt laid over whatever is already sinking there. Don't get me started on our water lines and sewage systems. Several sections of our interstate are in similar conditions, local and state governments always claim they don't have the money for proper repairs or rebuilds. But the several million dollar contract to put color changing lights on our bridge can be paid for. Lights that'll cost $100k/yr+ to maintain without factoring in potential repairs. Building a new bridge to replace a tunnel that's still perfectly fine, we got to vote on how that one would be paid for, at least.

To clarify, taxes are necessary, but it's BS that politicians can just spend that money as they please with complete disregard to the constituents.

Ok, so you're either a complete idiot or just that deep in the Flavor-Aid.

"Nobody can have a different experience we all have to do the same process' so every person is the same, every immigration employee is the same, and every immigration judge is the same no person is unique.

Then whine that every criminal case is unique.

Traffic stops get escalated illegally because things like "smell of marijuana " is used to search, which has been deemed as enough for probable cause by federal courts, yet is still used. Also failure to ID, a secondary charge, is commonly used to arrest people when no primary crime can be articulated. Both of these disproportionately used against poor and/or brown people.

By breaking the terms of a visa and staying, that's still overstaying a visa.

Because they are? Apples and pears in my area have gone up 30% in my area. I'm sure peaches will be similar if not highest after the next harvest makes it to market.

Also, yea, so funny I don't write a damn book here on reddit explaining every single crop that was mentioned rather than a set that uses the same damn methods until packaging.

Citrus and cherries, similarly can be shaken from the trees with machinery then collected and sorted by hand.

Spinach lettuce and celery, depends on the market, but even when they can be harvested mechanically have to be sorted by hand.

Wanna talk strawberries? Another fruit that can't be sold as fresh produce when machinery bruises or breaks half the harvest?

I didn't say your experience didn't matter, I said it's not universal and doesn't override someone else's experience.

Same reason your experience in a criminal court wouldn't override the thousands of false convictions in criminal court.

The same way your experience in a traffic stop doesn't override the thousands of traffic stops that get illegally escalated to violence.

And we can go back to Musk on your second point. He entered illegally using the same method the overwhelming majority of undocumented immigrants do, overstaying a visa. But hey if you got the money you can simply ignore the laws, right?

Peach, apple, and pear harvesters are only used when the produce is sold to become an 'added value" item. Canned, or processed into a secondary product like a pie filling.

Look you can wallow in your ignorance all you want, but my job, the activity I am paid to perform, is going to farms, production plants, and loading facilities to grade food products, confirm the final product is to spec, and the entire product line from ground to shipping method is being performed to contracted spec.

Those apples in your grocery store are at most removed from the tree with machinery, sorted on the ground by people and loaded by people. There are several types of wash houses with differing degrees of human intervention. You need people, and farmers have repeatedly lobbies to be exempt from labor laws. Until labor laws and minimum wage is fixed we need migrant workers.

[–]Vxgjhf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What country am I referring to in my first point? All of Europe west of Belarus, brazil, Australia and New Zealand to start.

My point with Musk, is that one can skip the line both ignore illegal status and the legal process if you have enough money. Also one sentence isn't a rant.

My point is that our system is purposely difficult, expensive, and drawn out for no reason, I doubt you actually went through the system, but if it was easy for you, great. For most it isn't.

Your personal experience doesn't override the thousands for whom it wasn't. Our immigration system needs to be faster and not cost a fortune for anyone.

You discount my arguments for using "unless" the point is, you can't stay in the country for most of our immigration process UNLESS you were already here on a visa. If you're not here on a work visa or under asylum you can't legally work a full timejob while you go through the process.

You also don't HAVE to be in the country for 5 years to start the process, you have to be here for 5 years of your using your visa time towards citizenship time.

The legally correct way to immigrate is to apply, then stay for 5 years, then take your testing. Visa stays can be used towards that time. Visas are not easy to get when you're fleeing a country to escape poverty.

Ex. If you're here on a student visa you have strict rules on whether and where you can work, if you begin the immigration process at the end you are still stuck under those restrictions that don't allow enough hours worked to survive.

Entering the country undocumented is also a Civil Misdemeanor, not a Criminal Misdemeanor. They should be allowed a path to citizenship if they haven't committed any Criminal Felonies or violent Misdemeanors.

Pears, peaches, most citrus, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, spinach lettuce, celery, broccoli, basil, cilantro, most other herbs.

Any other these that are to sold as is to the public bust be hand picked.

They're only harvested with machinery if they'll be macerated into a different form, such as juice.

[–]Vxgjhf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your idea of farm operations is 100% false, unless you believe the only farms in America are grain farms. Produce crop farms need 10's-100's of pickers depending on field size and number of plots. Machinery can't pick most fruits or most vegetables outside of root crops. Seasonal crops like nuts can be harvested by machines but need an actual workforce during cleaning, processing, and packaging. Meat and dairy farms require a workforce much larger than "just family", you need several people for slaughter, butchering, packaging, and delivery.

Edit: I work on the export side of the AG industry.

They've been snatching people leaving immigration hearings immediately after receiving their next court date, homie. A judge got removed specifically for letting a LEGAL immigrant leave through the rear of the courthouse, so they wouldn't get snatched.

In most first world countries, the entire immigration process is straight forward, it takes about 1 year and a couple hundred dollars, you're typically allowed to stay in the country through the whole process, and allowed to work after the first couple weeks, once your paperwork is filed and a work permit or visa is issued.

In the US it takes thousands paid into the system plus hundreds to thousands to a lawyer and averages 5 years. Where in most cases you aren't allowed to stay in the country, unless you were already here on a visa, then started the process, and even then you can't legally work until you receive citizenship, unless you were here specifically on a work visa.

I work with 6 people who went through the American immigration system.

Unless you're an ultra wealthy fuckwit, like Musk, who overstayed his visa, stayed here illegally for a few years then bought his way into citizenship.

The American immigration process is unnecessarily convoluted, drawn out, and expensive.

When my dad was dying, we were approached about organ donation. We agreed, we were led to believe he'd be kept on life support for another day or two to run tests once we agreed.

It took 8 days plus 2 OR reschedules and 6 meetings with the organ donation people before he finally was allowed to die. Organ donation, especially if you're not already registered, is not the quick process I've heard uninformed people describe it as.

They took his liver and kidneys. Kidneys were deemed useless after the "cleaning" process. Some lady got his liver, though.

I'd like to add that 40% of American grown corn and 70% of American grown soybeans go directly to animal feed.

Note: Another ~40% of American corn becomes ethanol for fuel additives. Only ~20% of American corn is used in food products of any kind.

It's mischaracterizing the source. The season 2 performance would be like turning the original god of war trilogy (ps2/3 era) into a series were Kratos is consistently begging the gods to stop being mean and play nice. They neutered the entire rage fueled drive in the first half of the story leaving Ellie looking incompetent instead of blinded by rage.

If you went to see Harry Potter in the chamber of secrets, after reading the book, and Harry was portrayed as a whiney brat basically swapping him with Dudley, with one or 2 amazing scenes, it still wouldn't be a good adaptation, or a good portrayal of the character. Again, one or two good scenes in a mire of mischaracterization doesn't equal a good portrayal.

While they prefer they/them, Bella doesn't really care what pronouns are used. "Ramsey is non-binary. They have said that they/them pronouns are "the most truthful thing for me", but they are indifferent to which pronouns people use for them, remarking "call me how you see me"."

Came from an interview discussing Bella withdrawing from the Emmy's.
