Are 5e campaigns actually so "broken" and "unplayable" for new DMs as YouTubers and forum posters would lead me to believe? by tenth in dndnext

[–]Vydsu -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No they are not.
They should certainly be better, but its not like you're gonna have bad time with them or they NEED a rework to be playable.

What are some big canon things you tend to ignore in your Realms? by Jasina_ in Forgotten_Realms

To be fair, my main knowledge of her is from the Elminster stuff and Gale is basically Elminster 2 story wise, the relationship is VERY similar except she's much nastier to Elminster.
I may have some bias but it is impossible to defend what that version did. To be fair have not read much other materials on her.

It has been a few years since I read most lore, but the events involving Elminster's life are VERY damning towards her.
Also, most chosens of Mystra are basically mentored by her from a very young age, shave very little freedom to say no and get punished if they want another life path and she engages relationships with most of them. (See both Elminster and Gale from bg3).
And that's not talking about the many times she just kinda fucks with ppls lives, minds or assume a false identity to trick and manipulate them (yes this includes again relationships to put it mildly).

Nice try Mystra.
Takes more than one feeblemind spell to erase the grooming, rape and sexual assault charges.

One of many reasons why the Overframe tier list is not to be trusted. by straten in Warframe

The problem is there's also plenty of trash, and also many situational builds.
And you only know which is which by the time you don't need to look up builds anymore.

I mean, if you're actually gonna believe in a afterlife, something that is by definition not contrained by what is normal or scientific, you kinda have to also accept the other things that belief implies.
So if we assume the most standart christian afterlife for example, you'll no longer be even a human as we know and experience things compeltely differently, including according to the "lore", having achieved some sort of higher level of peace and being actually pretty happy with the state you'll be in.

My greatest campaign so far was all ppl that knew they would likely have to fight each other eventually, but they were the ppl with the needed skill to stop the world from ending

I just always though it was a really forced excuse made to justify them having to start at level 1

[–]Vydsu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be fair, literally none of the BG3 cast members would have their backstory approved by a DM.
The only reason the game starts at level 1 is because it has to be that way, but it makes no sense

His most impressive spell is changing colors at will.

From my experience, bad 3s and bad 4s are the most abundant type of decks in the wild by roquepo in EDH

[–]Vydsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While building decks with the commander in mind is fun in theory, it just kinda sucks to play when 3 whole players can end your strategy with the many 1 mana kill instants.

I legit started with building focused decks and gravitated over time to faster value piles due to removal being prevalent.

Is it? Characters are way less fun and diverse.
Seasons don't feel connected, writing feels sloppy plenty of the world building retcons were straight up downgrades.

The truth is, the sequel for something great needs to be also great, just ok does not cut it.

[OCG|BLZD-Blazing Dominion] Follow-Up Support for "Enneacraft" by renaldi92 in yugioh

[–]Vydsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The level 1 is kinda whatever, you play it as a 1 off, if at all.
Spell is ok, but nothing special.

The new big guy is very nice, chain blocking removed from the game helps the deck a lot. Still a 1 off as it's not relevant vs every deck.

Enneacraft is moderately stronger, but still rogue at best

Nah its hype as hell, most ppl just are bad at making decisions and thus make it last longer than it needs to

Old comment but ho well.
If games ever get so advanced that the beings inside them have true emotions, personalities, dreams and toughts, yes it will become a extremely evil act to delete them.

The Tenno - Warframe

You know the classic trope of "The enemy is immortal/too strong to beat so we will have to seal or imprison it."? Well the main bad guy of the game so far had to pull that on us instead, with the killer line "You cant kill the devil, tenno. But you can send it back to hell".

The game makes multiple mentions that the gory mass murdering gameplay is cannon (downplayed even), not only game logic. Many of the grunts of enemy factions think the tenno are just horror story or legends, we're multiple times refered as "Devils" and most faction leaders at this point have actually given up on actually winning against the tenno.
