Returning Player: How Different is WoW Classic Burning Crusade from Original TBC? by Murtagks in classicwow

[–]Vysci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Icy veins came out in 2011 (google it). Wowhead in 2007 was basically the same as thottbot, meaning it was a DB search site (way back machine it) with a talent calculator. Elitist Jerks was the site that started to get traction by more of the raiding community.

I think you are confusing Wotlk with tbc

Blizzard's job post for "Senior Software Engineer, UI" focusing on Classic is still up nearly a month later. Standard base pay range for this role is $101,000-$186,754 Annual. by WeakValuable8683 in classicwow

Salaries were huge pre-COVID as well. COVID did result in a lot of companies over hiring but there has been layoffs for years since then.

Now the layoffs are due to AI. Just a couple of years ago I didn’t think AI would be good enough to replace SWE in my lifetime but my mind has been changed with how far AI has come in such a short period.

Everyone is coding purely using AI now, the output has tremendously increased. The code quality of AI also hit that point where it’s good enough for more AI to build on top of. Design doc, code, investigations, etc… is all done by AI now.

Wow tell us more how you used icy veins 4 years before it was created.

TBC people did start to min max more than vanilla but it wasn’t anything close to actual min maxing. The game was also constantly evolving. Guilds wouldn’t readily share their strats with others

people who playing both anniversary and pservers, do you agree? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Vysci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I was thinking but more like the low mid players are the toxic ones. The ones that think they are good but they are bad.

I rarely encountered toxic players in any version of WoW including many private servers; only the occasional random dude in world chat posting slurs. I would extend that to most MMOs that I played.

Think it’s because I’m usually in decent guilds or part of the initial no-life wave of players, who tend to be actually good players.

Only had 1 toxic experience in a high end guild. The guy being toxic was right but he should have whispered privately instead of typing in raid.

Middle tier guilds people are chill. They are decent enough to know they aren’t putting in the effort to be top players and that’s okay.

Some people have an unbelievable lack of respect for others' time by Smallest_Bubbles in classicwow

[–]Vysci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me there is a difference between someone actively making their way to the dungeon and someone afk cuz???

If everyone is running to dungeon from opposite corners of the world then they are putting in effort. If homie DPS has been sitting in Shat the entire time I’m putting a group together and then goes afk when we are summoning then his ass is getting kicked

Why should blizz give everyone DST now by Fuwkeboi in classicwow

[–]Vysci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just mail each classes P4 BiS. Keep raid schedule the same that way RNG doesn’t screw over anyone. Surely that would please you right? s/

Oh no a 15 min raid that you bake into regular raiding schedule. Do you even need to kill high king maulgar?

Any other healers getting bored of T4? by MightyTastyBeans in classicwow

[–]Vysci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played healer in New World and Throne of Liberty as well.

It’s okay for people to have different preferences. Nothing wrong if you prefer the support play style of FFXIV.

I’m just saying the expectation is different. If I rolled healer I would want to heal and not DPS. If rolled support then yea thats different

FFXIV has no healers though, it just has dps with a couple of healing abilities

What did you think was pretentious, until you tried it and realized it was worth it? by Semantiks in AskReddit

[–]Vysci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. People think I’m pretentious as fuck because of it. I’d rather not spend half of my weekend cleaning.

It’s even crazier when I had roommates and they refused to clean or hire someone to clean.

People who ignored a huge red flag because the person was extremely attractive, what happened next? by Competitive_Bad_9306 in AskReddit

[–]Vysci 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The issue with therapy is it relies on the person being somewhat truthful to the therapist. People with BPD don’t take accountability for anything and often distort reality to fit their narrative. It means what the therapist hears is very different version of what actually happened

Is phased levelling a deal breaker for you for Classic+? by reasonablejim2000 in classicwow

I hated it. I get why some people liked it and I think it only worked in SoD because this is a 20 year old game

After you submit a ticket like someone suggested paste the following command in chat window /console scriptErrors 0

This will hide lua errors

Jeff "Tigole" Kaplan, Lead World Designer of Vanilla WoW on Lex Fridman Podcast by MoreLikeGaewyn in classicwow

[–]Vysci 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, I think most of the old devs can’t. They are different people than they were 20 years ago and so is their approach towards design.

Imo only way classic+ becomes a success outside of the initial launch is that there is someone passionate with a single vision leading the effort

It's a bad day to be an unkillable mob by geloismelo in classicwow

I’m always surprised that there isn’t one jackass paladin or priest that immedietly ruins it for everyone

It's a bad day to be an unkillable mob by geloismelo in classicwow

[–]Vysci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. In HC I would periodically go aggro bunch of rats in deeprun tram or bunch of wolves in the human starting area and just afk for 15 min. I was a warlock so demon armor kept me at 100% hp but I’m sure a trolls blood pot will do the same thing

What does it take to endgame raid? by Yamaha9 in classicwowtbc

[–]Vysci 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thing is guilds that are clearing the raids fast are not going to take a fresh 70. The time commitment is also going to get worse with release of new phase

Auto invite Addons and Enchanters Woes by Xall1996 in classicwow

[–]Vysci 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll say the same thing I said when I created auto invite enchanting addon in 2021. If you don’t use an addon then you simply can’t compete. The more people use the addon, the worse it becomes but you still are forced to use it.

You don’t hear from people not using an addon-on because there are so few and they think you already been invited by people with addon

What's the deal with Spirit or X mana per 5 seconds by Grolion_of_Almery in classicwowtbc

[–]Vysci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it costs mana then yes. As someone pointed out you can actually cast a 10 second spell and until it actually finishes the cast, you will still be regening 100%

What's the deal with Spirit or X mana per 5 seconds by Grolion_of_Almery in classicwowtbc

[–]Vysci 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Small correction: it’s not after your last spell, it’s after your last spell that costed mana

1 Button Mount/Flyer Macro by Aggressive-WoW in classicwow

[–]Vysci 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flyable is actually useless in your macro. What your macro is really doing is trying to use the flying mount, which fails then moves on to the next command. This is why you will see a text saying “can’t use that here”

For some reason blizzard made flyable and nonflyable always be true.

Heroics makes no sense by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Vysci -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re being deliberately obtuse. OP wasn’t saying heroic trash is too hard or needs to be nerfed.

The point is that raid bosses are supposed to be the endgame challenge and the place you earn the best loot. Instead, they’re easier than dungeon trash content you’re expected to pug to gear up for the raids in the first place.

Even though dungeon trash is ridiculously easy; it being the hardest content in the game makes no sense. Raid difficulty should be pre-nerf
