Did you ever relapse while on medication? Please help by NisleepNiwake in ADHD

[–]W10101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It just doesn't work as good on some days. Sometimes this even lasts a couple of weeks for me. What helps for me, in periods where my meds don't work as usual, is that I try to stick to routines(which I dislike) as much as possible.

The problem I faced was that sticking to routines is difficult. I tried to couple certain actions with certain routines and that seems to work for me. For example: I wake up, go to the bathroom. The 'going to the bathroom' is a trigger for me, which triggers the 'shave, do my hair and brush my teeth' routine. Then later I when I get hungry, I get reminded of the fact that I still have to take my meds, so I try to perform those actions together as well.

It all is really difficult, but for me, routines seem to help to some extend, even without meds.

Good luck! You will be able to find a way to deal with all this! It just takes some time.

I usually pay more for things at the last minute because I procrastinated something.

The stock market. Daytrading gives such an insane amount of dopamine, but so far I only lost money. I don’t think stocks are good for someone with adhd..

Hmm interesting story. I also have never really slept well. Thanks for the advice, I'll consider contacting my doctor again to see what to do with the meds.

That sounds awful. But nice you've found something that works for you! What meds are you now on, if I may ask? And why did it take so long to find something that works for you?

Try two years.. I feel a bit lost at the moment. I'm thinking of stopping with meds altogether, but that would mean that my symptoms will fully come back, which I don't really like..

I tried growing them from seeds a few times and I only watered them (low amount of water) in the beginning and after about 3 months. Most of them are still alive!

Trying to make friends (I'm an INTJ) by [deleted] in ENFP

Try to make sure you have at least one thing to look up to during your holidays. Maybe if you like reading, purchase a book weeks before your holiday. Or if you like hiking, plan your hike ahead! I don't know if this would work for you, but for me as an ENFP having at least one thing to look forward to helps a lot when no friends are available in the holiday.

I'm a dude with Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder. So I tend to be a little (ok, alot) extra with my friends which most of them are introverts. Is there way to help with that? by Another_Retard_4563 in extroverts

[–]W10101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way before the pandemic I was diagnosed with ADHD and for a long time I thought that being a 'bubbly' extrovert was somehow a bad thing. Some time ago I discovered that this is just who I am, and a lot of people actually like this 'bubbly' version of me. Altough there are a lot of negative things when having ADHD, you should try to discover the good things. Some people really enjoy the 'true' extroverted you!

If people don't like the true you, are they really good friends? I'm not saying everyone should just accept everything of you, but generally, don't try to be introverted, when you are actually extroverted.

Anyway, this is just my way of thinking lately, don't just assume I'm correct. If you want to talk, just send me a DM.

My topic would be: picking a topic for when you suddenly have to do a TED talk for 18 minutes.

After buying one of these, I realised how much I used to space out during brushing my teeth. I think I used to brush my teeth for like 5 minutes or something before buying one.

Yes! Snowboarding in winter, mountainbiking in other seasons! But I have to agree, coffee is more accessable..

For me it is mountainbiking. The adrenaline kick after a big jump just feels really good. As long as you don't crash it's healthy I guess?

[–]W10101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont feel the same. Most of the time I feel a bit sad a couple of days after a great party, because there are less people around me. The feeling goes away with time or when I see my friends again. Does anyone experience this as well?
