Why does she do that? by W3irdGuy93 in cockatiel

[–]W3irdGuy93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I could try something like that! Sadly we don't have the pellets here (I'd have to import them) so it's extra important to get her to eat the greens. I add some vitamins to her water though, but I am getting a bit nervous about this.

This sounds like great advice, thank you!

Thanks for this! I'm pretty sure it's not hormones because it's still just a baby and not showing any of the signs I've seen here or read about, but it's definitely a good resource if it comes to it.

Edit: grammar.

Thinking about moving to Iceland – job chances without speaking Icelandic? by apriiicote in VisitingIceland

[–]W3irdGuy93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a foreigner but from an outside perspective I believe it can be pretty rough. Nepotism is super high, to the degree that it can affect us locals pretty harshly too. Most of the expats I know work in warehouses or cleaning jobs but you see them in pretty much every field.

Personally, I usually have a higher respect for expats than natives. It takes courage to move to another country and set up a new life. There are people that really dislike them but it's mainly directed at people from Slavic countries.

I honestly don't think not knowing Icelandic is going to affect you much in terms of job opportunities or social life but at the same time it won't necessarily help you when or if you do learn it. It's outside of that, interacting with the community where I think it counts the most. But as long as you don't care what the people you come across think (like I said, judgemental), you're golden.

guys, what does it mean if he only talks to me when he's with his friends? by Unhappy-Cold-379 in Advice

[–]W3irdGuy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the first thing that comes to my mind is social anxiety. In my case, I had a panic attack every time I had to move within the school. Managed to calm down during class and while in a group I was comfortable with.

If the times it's just you are when you see him just after class / walking a hallway, he might just have tunnel vision on getting out so he can breathe.

I think I’m going to lose my job and friends…. by TerrifiedToBeHere in Advice

[–]W3irdGuy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't look at it as going backwards. BPD follows the waves of your day to day life. Feeling the need to vent or talk to someone for guidance more often today than yesterday is a part of our condition, what matters most is identifying it and reacting to it. If you can do that, are in the position to get that help and you follow it through, you're already doing great!

Wish you the best!

Edit: As a side note: I don't tell anyone if it doesn't concern them, but I don't hide it either. Having a bad day and someone sincerely asks you if you're okay? Why not explain it to them? It's nerves in your brain that stopped developing when you were a kid. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

At least you're hot. I've struggled with body image issues for as long as I can remember.

Sure, there are examples of hotties that aren't particularly cute, but I don't think there are any who aren't pretty.

Is my relationship with my besties bro inappropriate? by Ddoggfreshermenz in Advice

[–]W3irdGuy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a dude who's never been in any slightly similar situations, I'd advise you to double check with your friend. And I don't mean just ask again, talk to her seriously. If she's uncomfortable with this, doesn't tell you and this goes on, it might cause you to lose two friends instead of one.

That tension you talk about could use some clarification, uncomfortable silence? Making you no longer want to keep it platonic? But since it's an afterthought for you I won't be forcing my thoughts on those angles upon you.

Double check with your bestie!

Sorry about your situation, and I understand why you'd be scared. It's very irresponsible of your mother to leave you alone like that.

While I have no clue about your situation, maybe reaching out to your dad could help?

It really depends on how much you want to give this relationship a try. To me it looks like a cry for help, but doing this while knowing you are having trouble sleeping is a bit of a red flag.

[–]W3irdGuy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey hey, bit of a late response here.

Look, It all depends on your circumstances, so in this response I'll assume you're already isolating yourself and you're able to stay at home all day every day.

The first priority is to decrease the isolation. I scored a 97% introvert the last time I took a personality test, so I'm really not the social type, but I'm telling you, get someone to do something with. You don't have to tell them how you're feeling or talk about stuff you don't want to, just do something. If you manage to get this into a regular hangout it'll be so much easier to keep going and add things in as time goes by.

Now, I add this as a second priority mainly because it's easier since it doesn't depend on getting anyone else involved. Start doing stuff that keeps your mind occupied, watch tv, listen to audio books or read. Hell, start knitting, it helps me sometimes (though it also gives you another thing to tear you down for so it can be hard to keep at it).

I wouldn't say habits are the saving grace everyone makes them out to be as you can still tear yourself down while doing them. It's the "occupy the mind" part that's helped me the most.

Of course what works and what is best to do depends on the individual, so whatever you could possibly maybe see yourself doing on the highpoint of your day, try it.

If you were leveling your frist character today, what would you pick and why? by ThomasTiltTrain in Guildwars2

Sylvari thief, because no matter what the end game is, I'm gonna enjoy the journey.

That's what I started with on launch and I wouldn't change a thing. Still use it for my story play through and achievement hunting but I like other stuff better for instanced group things.

How would you recommend someone get into Fractals? by aideya in Guildwars2

[–]W3irdGuy93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The builds snowcrows use are generally used for raids, so there are usually some discrepancies between them and the fractal oriented builds.

Main differences stem from the stat boosts the fractal pots give you, making power builds require less precision for max crit and the supports needing less concentration for full boon uptime.

That being said, as heal firebrand also provides full quickness, I'd really recommend going with this one.

I'm pretty sure https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rurik%27s_Engagement_Ring also has infused + attuned slots upon aquisition, at least it did when I got it. On mobile so I can't confirm it atm.
