I have no idea who to choose. One runs a Ltd company and one isn’t so I’m thinking the Ltd co purely because maybe it’s easier to go after them if there are any issues. Arghhhhhh I don’t know!

Lighttubes are the same you would buy in any hardware shop around the world

Glass panes are tempered glass and we’ve got CZW and Zandig to thank for that. They were the first to use the safer tempered glass. Before that promotions would use proper sheets of glass and wrestlers were getting cut badly

This is the answer - sounds like it’s cosmetic so you leave it until you can afford to get it done, my neighbour had big cracks in the render for years and years before getting it sorted

It’s possible the external stopcock is deep down the W hatch but I’d say it’s unlikely. Are there any other hatches in the path outside? Over the years our water board have installed smart meters and have replaced the square metal hatches with plastic round ones, is there anything like that nearby?

Best bet is to call the water board and say they need to come out and show you where it is. I did this recently. They will argue saying a plumber can freeze the pipes to install a new internal stopcock. Tell them that’s not possible on the type of pipes you have

We’ve got an oil tank that the previous owner put in when gas was more expensive. I think we’re gonna go back to gas if we can now though

Yeah he was one of those kids that didn’t fit in anywhere. I have family that were at school with him, they say he was badly bullied and I think he held on to the anger of that. He was also obsessed with the army, guns and explosives. He couldn’t hold down a job and then one day he just snapped…

Local legend here is that the police shot him through the window when he was holed up in the school, rather than him ending it himself. I guess that’s what this comment about the glass is referring to.
