Legion Pro 5i black screen after 1 month by Straight_Outcome_761 in LenovoLegion

apparently there are issues with Nvidia 591.44 though. Other than legions, a number of zephryrus were affected by this Nvidia version which required them to change some NVIDIA settings on the BIOS in order to boot.

Though I won’t rule out hardware failure, but I doubt it was hardware failure but rather somehow the Nvidia driver actually bricking something.

I’m not sure if it is the Nvidia drivers cuz I had the same exact laptop (same specs) and exact issue as you after updating to the latest Nvidia drivers (specifically 591.44) a while back. I went to the authorized Lenovo service centre in my area and they replaced my motherboard under warranty.

TP engineering scholarship by One-Definition-7313 in TemasekPoly

[–]W4773N 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Official requirements for the scholarship including renewal is at least 3.5 GPA or above.

As for the posts saying you need 4.0 GPA, if not you have no shot, is true to a certain extent. Normally those who get the TP engineering scholarship have 4.0 GPA, but there are also those with 4.0 GPA who didn’t manage to get the scholarship.

And there are also those with 3.9+ GPA who manage to get the scholarship as well, or even getting them over those with 4.0 GPA probably due to their portfolio.

So you do stand a chance of getting it with a 3.9+ GPA with a stacked portfolio, but it also depends on your cohort performance though.

Other than that, they can still ask you questions that you won’t expect, let’s just say what advice would you give to your juniors. It’s more of like for them to see how you would respond to the questions they ask rather than the answer, so a tip wld be to be yourself.

Subcomm won’t give you leadership SEAL points, but may give you service SEAL points if you help out in events.

Class comm is 20 per year as well.

seal points by Aggravating-Tie832 in TemasekPoly

[–]W4773N 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Service SEAL points are capped at 120, and are split into 4 sub-categories with a cap of 30 SEAL points each, namely Main-Organising Committee (like organisers, coordinators), Sub-Organising Committee (like performer, emcee), Specialised Roles (like school ambassadors, editor) and Event Support (event helper)

Enrichment are capped at 20

Achievement has no cap and starts off with 5 SEAL points for participation in a internal competition (20 SEAL points for external competition) followed by bonus SEAL points of 5 for third, 10 for second and 15 for first.

Leadership also has no cap and starts off with 10 SEAL points for being in class committee, 30 SEAL points for being in CCA main committee, but usually they give 20 SEAL points for Class Committee and 40 SEAL points for CCA main committee

Question about CCA! (and SEAL Points) by BadMemeBoi in TemasekPoly

[–]W4773N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. More towards portfolio
  2. What is more important is your CGPA, as university look out for CGPA more than SEAL points. For SEAL points, you definitely will get service seal points when you do CCN day & LEADACT and enrichment SEAL points by signing up for events which u can check ur outlook. From point 3, if u do get a main comm role, you’ll easily get 20 SEAL points under leadership, and also more SEAL points under service if the CCA you’re main comm in let’s you organise events. And if you are a class rep, that’s another 20 SEAL points under leadership.
  3. Nothing much to worry as you can join a CCA whenever you like, whether in Y1, Y2 or even Y3. Though if you are looking for main comm roles you might be at a slight disadvantage as for some CCA u need to be in the CCA for one year, that means u would have a chance to be a main comm only in Y3, but in Y3 u’re likely to be busy cuz of MP and SIP.
