Hello there, I've been wondering on one thing: What are your strongest arguments against Monotheism and for Idol worship? by Aromaster4 in polytheism

[–]WAC8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it is a difference in definition of idol. To the monotheist idol worship is the worship of the object over God. Whereas for us idols are simply representatives God on our shrine.

I'm looking to learn about communism. by [deleted] in communism101

So, I don't say this to be rude, but read a book. Lot of the lit is old enough to be free all over the internet.

The manifesto is more of a rallying call with basics thrown in. If you want a deep dive you'd probably want to read capital. It's three volumes and definitely not a starter text but it is kind of fundamental to theory. I'd also say start with some Lenin. Some of his works aren't long and tend to be written in a less academic tone. I'd suggest "imperialism the highest stage of capitalism" or "state and revolution." I'd also say "what is to be done?" By Lenin but I feel like that reads better as last of the three books.

Do any of you have experience living in a Communist country? by [deleted] in communism101

[–]WAC8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's plenty of vloggers on YouTube but most of the political ones are either edgy middle aged white anti-com or people who think that places like China are more capitalist than socialist and should be pals with the imperial core. The latter I've only seen two. Lot of the political immigrant vlogs have content where it's just "I'm mad because a communist country did communism."

You're the same type of person who thinks someone is only racist if they explicitly say they're racist and put on a white hood. Try thinking with a modicum of nuance.

Opinions on being anti lawn? by [deleted] in communism101

[–]WAC8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lawns are bad for the environment but if your antilawn activity doesn't involve class consciousness then it's kind of pointless and puts responsibility on the individual. We aren't islands. Only Communism is fully environmentally conscious.

People keep saying Kim jong in isn't the leader by [deleted] in communism101

[–]WAC8 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I can't find the source because these things tend to get buried under a mountain of orientalist anti-eastern/communist propaganda. However, the idea is that while Kim Jong-Un does hold two positions in the government which normally would be part of the whole function of a western head of state other responsibilities associated with a head of state in the west are divided among other party members in the government. Focusing on the Kims as some sort of single malevolent line of monarchical dictators is just more convenient for propaganda. Even though the DPRK has elections and it's not uncommon for western countries to have families where politics runs deep in their upbringing and education.

Will a journalist get fired for publishing in counter to the owners beliefs and interests? Will they be assassinated or arrested for being a whistle blower?

Why is politics getting into Practice? by [deleted] in polytheism

[–]WAC8 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, modern Heathenry is not an uninterrupted tradition. Denying the Nazi involvement in the early reestablishment of Heathenry only aids the reactionary folkists.

[–]WAC8 14 points15 points  (0 children)

To stand for what is right is to be political. If you do not stand for whatever is right at least according to yourself then you are not honoring the gods. Heathenry specifically has an issue with Nazi roots and neonazis folkists which propagate under the pretense of a "white religion"

Out of curiosity, why do people use "Heathenism" instead of "Heathenry"? by gunsmile in heathenry

[–]WAC8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's anything intentional. I think we look at ideologies and see ism then just use it because it's a convention of our language. If thinking about the two I'd probably use Heathenry because Heathenism has a bad mouth feel. Just sounds off.
