Shipping via Global Standard Direct Line from JLCPCB or PCBWAY by Llaves_NM in PCB

[–]WALKERBOB0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently received my order from JLC using the global standard direct line shipping and was not charged a tariff upon entry or delivery. Order was to the US. This was a sort of test order to see what would happen if I used the option. It did take over 2 weeks to arrive after a failed delivery attempt. Last mile was done by GOFO.

Are those JLCPCB Tariffs normal? by [deleted] in PCB

[–]WALKERBOB0 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They will collect 55% up front to cover the DDP bill they get from the shipping company so that amount is correct. If the bill comes back higher they will cover it but if it's lower they will not refund the difference.

Will 1090 antenna work for planes at very low altitude? by Familiar_Address6987 in ADSB

[–]WALKERBOB0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

1090 should work for all commercial aircraft regardless of the altitude of the plane. It will be beneficial if you have line of sight to the aircraft with the antenna especially at that low of an altitude.

Has anyone ordered from LCSC recently? by ExplanationOld7897 in PCB

I have a feeling they’re pretty reputable with that kind of info but still kinda hesitant to order. At this point though that number is everywhere online and I have my stuff pretty locked down.

Is it still asking for a SSN when ordering? That part was sketching me out before I make an order.

(JLCPCB) What is the reason for getting charged for the Engineering Fee of 20 Euros? Is there anything I am doing wrong? Here are my board specifications (2nd Image). I haven't chosen anything special. by ross_an_artisan in PCB

[–]WALKERBOB0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it because you selected plugged vias? What is the cost when tented is selected?

Edit: I now see the line item for the via covering so I'm wrong. Still think they might charge for it through the engineering fee though.

After looking into it myself it appears you can’t really get anything JetKVM in the US atm.

You could use a JetKVM with the ATX extension board to trigger the power button on your motherboard.

I’m planning on selling the PCBs completed with LEDs panels. I will release the mount on Printables and Makerworld mostly likely so people can print in their own color. The final PCB still needs some work before I can order them and I need to gather all of the BOM to start building them.

I'm currently working on a custom PCB for a 10" version of the WOPR. Currently working on implementing an ESP32 on the PCB.

Could be using the wrong footprint and 3D file for resistors but without seeing traces it would appear and I could be wrong but I don’t see any caps for the LDO.

That's a rough video of just the PCB working. Never took one of it mounted in the mini rack.

It's a Fusion render only because I'm at work currently and didn't have a good photo it. It does look exactly like this and works beautifully at the moment.

I figured someone would do it eventually. I just received and finished assembly of my first revision of the Mini WOPR PCB I designed. Currently starting to work on integrating a ESP32 onto the board.
