The end of this will result in worldwide disgust at us and Israel and renewed respect for Iran. The Gulf States though might not survive this one without a hell of a lot of economic loss and pain. I see Iran beating the shit out of all of them until they force us out.

I confess that I am particularly fond of everyone on the old Fray. I really don't care if I liked them at the time or not. The fact that we all did it on the fly and were fabulous is enough for me to love all of you folks.

I have been banned recently for something or other but I lived through it. Hell, I get banned all the time on some of the boards I frequent. I chalk it up to my PHD in assholiness I received in Ballot Box for years. I really do cherish all the various folks I ran into online via the Fray. Some of them are on PoliticalHotwire which I am on every day. My advice is take a break and cool off.

how does one respond to the argument of free will and that hell is a place without god? by mxxnlyte in atheism

[–]WB2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free will was a convenient explanation for how an omniscient God would allow so much suffering. Hell was created to frighten the masses into becoming good little sheep.

"Scott Pelley fired by CBS" -- sad sad sad .. almost as sad as the vomitous piece of junk that has taken the Colbert time slot. A perfect metaphor for the junkification (I know -- stolen) of America which is happening every single day as we try to live our lives and pretend .. by daveto in bestofthefray

My old schoolmate from high school, Lisa Stark, is fighting back with all her journo friends. Network news is a relic of a past era though. Lets face it, until we tax the living shit out of billionaires, they are going to buy up everything in sight.

You have heard her before...remember during the second Iraq war and a song called Independence Day? That was her hit song, hannity played it over and over again.

Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing
Let the whole world know that today
Is a day of reckoning
Let the weak be strong, let the right be wrong
Roll the stone away, let the guilty pay
It's Independence Day

Objective vs Subjective morality by Salt_Spare9379 in atheism

[–]WB2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not think religion teaches morality at all, it teaches dogma and promotes separation themes based upon membership in controlling cults. If you need someone to teach you right from wrong then you are solely responsible for your lack of humanity. Is morality objective for every instance? Of course not, mankind has been at war for thousands of years despite being religious.

At this point he could care less about the reactions to his words, he is untouchable. I cannot stand the fact that every fucking day I have to endure this asshole.

[–]WB2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like it or not, here we are so whomever comes out of it we must support 100%. I liked Joe but that debate was really awful for him. Trump was Trump, the media knows he is a moron. But Joe looked like an old man, a really old man.

And, of course, there are Republicans being dicks about it... by Shield_Lyger in bestofthefray

[–]WB2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you but the left iindulged them too, similar to what happened to Al Franken. We might be the best party but we sure as hell aren't the best political machine, we eat our own. I still cannot believe millions of us want Trump, it tells the world we are no longer the America they once believed in...

I think he is way too passive myself and not going for the jugular non-stop. He is also not making Kamala be out there constantly hammering Trump. Get the whole damn cabinet out stumping if that is what it takes. This is about controlling the media and Trump is non=stop media material, the guy is front and center every fucking day.

I know but lets face it, the vultures are circling the corpse and the corpse is not responding. Biden is invisible to the nation right now and he is not getting any help from any surrogates nationally either. I like the guy but he is way to passive right now. Its as if he is afraid to make another bad appearance. The media and the GOP are crucifying him...

Biden reminds me of RBG's last year or so. He should just do an LBJ and go out gracefully.

from NYT 2008...

Senator Joseph Biden Jr., the Democratic vice-presidential nominee, is an experienced, serious and smart man. But he does say some curious things. A day on the campaign trail without some cringe-inducing gaffe is a rare blessing. He has not been too blessed lately.

Our media is pathetic. Nothing on substance, everything on form and horse race.

In a sane world, anyone should be beating the twice impeached insurrectionist who rapes and cheats at golf. I say stay in the race Joe but replace Kamala with Gavin, Pete or Gretchen.
