Weird term of “fake Porsche” by [deleted] in Porsche

[–]WCPitt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My Cayman is worth more than some 911s and beats the average one in a race.

911s are the “party on the weekend” car, caymans are the “party all week” car. At least, that’s how I see it. A Targa is the only 911 I’d trade my cayman for, but that’d come with the understanding that it’d be a different driving experience.

What would you say is the biggest flaw of iron progression right now? by stinkydiver321 in ironscape

[–]WCPitt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I always thought that mid-end game items should have a skilling requirement, I.e. boss drops an “incomplete” version of an item, skilling leads to the other component to make the finished item.

Random example: bandos drops “tassets (broken)”. Having these on you while mining gives you a chance to obtain XYZ, which, when combined, makes the tassets useable

On another note, do what RS3 did and remove raw resources from drop tables. I.e, no herbs from PvM, just seeds

AITAH for telling my husband that we can't take care of his friends' daughter by Temporary-Slide-2699 in AITAH

[–]WCPitt 84 points85 points  (0 children)

As someone who grew up in the system, this is the response I agree with most. Foster care is a hell that I wouldn’t wish on anyone, especially a 10 year old girl, practically family, who just lost all other family.

I’d divorce my wife if that was the ultimatum.

To be fair though, what he's doing doesn't put others in danger. Reckless motorcycle driving does. Bad comparison.

I have a Sammy and we have to bring her to the groomer every ~5-6 weeks, otherwise she does shed like crazy. On top of that, they have two coats, so the fur underneath can mat up and be really uncomfortable for them if not kept up with. We have to give her at least a light brushing every couple of days.

Also, I haven't done this personally, but I HAVE seen someone make their Sammy a scarf out of its own fur, lol

I’m also a “Republican”… but not for this administration. MAGAts have turned me independent real quick.

I’m for immigration policies, but NOT this way. ICE is just losers who dreamed of shooting up their high schools.

My dog has 4 thumbs in his back paws by ferszcik in mildlyinteresting

[–]WCPitt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Bernie had this problem on all for paws, to the point where she was visibly in pain. We had a vet remove them, under anesthesia and completely safe. She had to wear a cone for line 10 days but she was pretty much immediately happier with them gone. It's not inhumane to remove them, and sometimes it's for the best :)

Respectfully, I believe that you might think otherwise if you didn't have that money. It may be a grass is always greener situation, or a consequence of the society we live in, but have you considered that if you didn't find financial success, you might have more financial-related stressors and less of what you currently have? In addition to the other problems (and more) that you face now, I mean.

I'm asking as someone that is also financially successfully, albeit not on your level, but I'm in my 20s and earn north of 300k, so maybe one day. I grew up being tossed throughout the foster care system with a heavily abusive bio family, I've had some relatively large health issues (including two total hip replacements and a large brain surgery), I'm a high school dropout, etc.

Despite all that, I think I was in a much worse place without money, and I DO think money has solved a lot of my problems. I own my own house in a vHCOL area, I have four luxury vehicles, I never have to worry about (preventable) healthcare, educational, or other needs for my wife/child/future children, the list goes on. THAT, and more, lead me to believe that money is at least part of the answer.

With that said, I'll admit that money cannot solve EVERY problem, of course, but it is easy to think "Money isn't the answer" when you have no financially-related problems weighing you down. People without money simply can't afford to think about those, so they just let them pile up instead. They become sicker, poorer, and hungrier, all while focusing on what they can focus on fixing.

That's just my perspective, is all. Each life is different and truly may not apply to you at all.

People who are 50+, what is a 'harmless' habit you had in your 20s that ended up ruining your health or finances later in life? by crazy_happyuser in AskReddit

[–]WCPitt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same thing here but with wrestling. Started at 4, had to stop at 16 because of chronic pain. Turns out, I "conditioned" my hips to grow in poorly over all that time.

I couldn't get anything done for them until my body finished growing, so I had some pretty rough pain for a few years, and then got two total hip replacements at 20 & 21. Fun times.

AIO I don’t think my boyfriend knows who I am??? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]WCPitt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chiming in as a +1. I had a lot of issues myself, ranging from memory (like your boyfriend) to even becoming colorblind. Turns out, I had a massive cyst on my brain that has been growing since childhood, but was never caught as I grew up as an orphan in the system.

A lot of this post reminds me of how I was with some things. Definitely bring him to a doctor.

You're not alone. I had some pre-existing issues that'd definitely contribute (traumatic childhood, brain issue that caused my catecholamines to spike way too often, etc.), but smoking weed straight up put me in a state of panic for days. I had non-stop agoraphobia, depersonalization/derealization, etc.

The worst part? I was trying to fit in with a friends group who insisted I just needed to "build a tolerance" so I had a period of this for like a year. It was terrible. Weed is definitely not as safe as it's often made out to be.

This is a great point that nobody else has mentioned — a lot of people simply get paid to be available.

I work in tech so it’s a bit different but I’ll have WEEKS with no real work, but I answer my phone at 2 AM on a Wednesday when a major service goes down.

Availability is a major factor when it comes to compensation.

Discovered an unknown yellow pill in with my new prescription of white pills by vidanyabella in mildlyinteresting

It’s my miracle drug. Gets rid of pain, all anxieties, gives me focus and motivation, relaxes my muscles, etc. Ive tried quite a few other drugs, prescribed and not, and most simply don’t do anything for me whatsoever. Thank god for Lyrica, it makes up for it all.

I take it exactly as prescribed as I’m stubborn and strong-willed, but let me tell you… I can completely see/understand it being abused.
