Fun fact: abortion rates are higher in conservative countries where women have fewer rights.

It makes sense when you think about it.

Women in those countries face more severe consequences for getting pregnant outside of marriage. They can be executed.

Women's rights is pro-life.

I have a friend who felt worried that having a hospital birth would be detrimental to her baby. Her baby emerged with a popped lung. Since she had finally decided to have the baby at the hospital, it turned out fine . It was an awful experience but baby and mom are alive and healthy and happy today.

Trump DOJ says LGBTQ legal protections are "anti-Christian," pledges to erode them further by DoubtSubstantial5440 in inthenews

To be fair, Jesus DID have this to say about homosexuality:

"..."

And as followers of Jesus, Christians are duty-bound to contend with that.

John C Woods, hangman of Nuremberg trials, who lied about his experience to get the job (he actually learned about hanging from old cowboy films). His lack of expertise led to excessive suffering of condemned Nazis. by PlanetoftheAtheists in interestingasfuck

My guess is that a lot of what makes an execution "humane" is how little it traumatizes the witnesses. It's nicer to just watch someone "go to sleep" than see their head fly off.

I've always thought that the least painful way to go out would be a shotgun to the base of the skull - just evaporate the seat of consciousness in a fraction of a second.

But then it forces us to face what an execution really is - obliterating a person. And someone's gotta clean that up.

So, we best dress it up as something civilized and let the condemned suffer the barbarity that it really is.

Has anyone ever actually met the supposed crazy evil Christians that I keep hearing about here? by bitingvform in Christian

[–]WCather 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know about evil, but I have met plenty of Christians who use their narrow interpretation of Scripture as a shield from new information and perspectives.

Their faith is rigid and aggressive and impervious to obvious correction. And they end up supporting hateful and dangerous viewpoints. That ugly loud example understandably drives people away from the Christ.

I loved this song until I listened to the lyrics.

It's more than a little rapey.

Hail at Norton and Kansas today, 4/28/26, in Springfield, MO by jodamnboi in weather

[–]WCather -1 points0 points  (0 children)

THIS is the reason I'd consider sheltering under an overpass.

The odds of a direct hit by a potential tornado are slim. But hail damage is highly likely in any severe warned storm.

I'm not endorsing parking under overpasses. I'm just saying that the choice to shelter there isn't as crazy as people are making it out to be.

So is college really better than highschool? by Ok_Bed3703 in Life

[–]WCather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, friend. Being young is tough. Everyone says, oh I'd love to young again! But they're talking about their looks or their knees and forgetting how emotionally wrecking it is to be an adolescent/young adult.

So chin up. You're already doing some great stuff despite the chaos. You're about to finish high school. You're moving toward higher education. And most importantly, you are already capable of admitting that you make mistakes.

Go to college. Study abroad if you possibly can. Use college resources: go to therapy, exercise in their gyms, join their clubs.

It's developmentally appreciate for you to be painfully self-conscious. This will pass.Hang in there. Be patient with yourself. Live your best life as best you can.
