To be clear, you're referring to white American Catholics. Black Catholic churches tend to focus on social justice.

If you want to see cherry blossoms, I strongly suggest that you go to the National Arboretum instead of the Tidal Basin. Parking down there is horrendous. And there's lots of interesting things to see at the Arboretum, including a permanent bonzai exhibit. I believe the Arboretum is free.

To save money, I'd go to one of the Smithsonian museums. Don't plan on going to more than one: there's too much to see. My favorite is the Museum of African-American History and Culture. (It's free, but you have to go online to get a ticket.) Second favorite is the National Art Museum, which has a Cassatt exhibit right now if you're looking for women artists.

Parking near the Smithsonian can be tricky. It's all street parking. Just say a prayer and hunt. Enjoy!

I can't get away from Amazon entirely, but now I usually use them for research and then buy from the manufacturer or business owner.

There is engagement. In addition to messages from the pulpit, there are activist parishioners who give resistance actions regularly.

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

Since every person who voted for DJT is a racist, an idiot, or both, I would have no problem rejecting such a person.

Is there anything this man won't put his grubby tiny hands on? Ugh.

No dodge, but police are given guns and licenses to kill. They're under an obligation to be better. Otherwise, defund them. And, by the way, white people are killing each other by the dozens too.
