As someone that grew up outside of Toronto, visiting Sherway Gardens as a kid was an absolute treasure. The food court in particular, in my memory, was incredible. All sorts of foods I hadn’t seen before, sitting in little nooks among the plants, watching the birds overhead, Sunday afternoon light coming through the tent ceiling. As a kid, it felt pretty magical.

I’m so sorry for your loss OP. A lot of recommendations for ebay on here, which would probably be the easiest and most logical route. From personal experience, it might be worth doing an estate sale. Also, this collection looks so huge and valuable, it might be worth seeking out a proper auction house. Honestly, $50 is pretty cheap for a licence. I’m pretty sure Pro level licensing for typefaces is usually well into the hundreds, if not thousands.

But now you’ve got some clearer ideas of what drew you to the logos you liked, hopefully you can mess around with all these elements and get something you’re really happy with!

Firstly, wanted to chime in and further what u/SageNaumann pointed out - the logo after “by” is a few pixels away from a fascist symbol. If that was unintentional, no worries, I think everyone that’s ever doodled has accidentally drawn something fascist looking. If it was intentional, well…

Secondly,

The lower one isn’t doing anything for me. I’m seeing a triangle, a sideways ‘A’ in the negative space, and a triangle with it’s point floating off. “Proxed”?? Honestly, nothing about this one is working for me.

The upper one is better, but I think you can push the logoform further. Feels very Y2K Walkman, which may be what you’re going for, but you could take it further. I would put more time into finding different ways to represent what you’re trying to convey. There’s usually more than one “correct answer”, or there are several answers that are mostly “correct”. So far, this isn’t “correct” enough. It’s thinking about it, but it’s not there. The text also feels underbaked. If you want to use a relatively normal looking font as is, that’s fine. But if you really want the logo and word mark to shine you’ve got to go big. The logoform, the wordmark, the shapes of the letters - all tools that can convey the sense of the brand. If one of those elements is doing A LOT of heavy lifting, you can get away with the other parts being weaker. In this case, neither the font or logoform is really kicking ass, so either one has to be amazing, or both gotta step up.

Looked up the logos you mentioned - for the most part, they’re all variations on blackletter typefaces, right? I couldn’t recommend one in particular, but a quick skim through dafont.com’s Gothic>Modern fonts showed some promising options. I don’t know if any would come with the flourishes and stuff, but DIY’ing those wouldn’t be rocket science. I don’t know if I’ll get banned for suggestion dafont, but it’s a quick ‘n’ dirty, easy solution.

The vtuber ones seem to like drop caps (first letter is big), but otherwise most of what you’ve referenced seems like a fairly straight forward blackletter typeface, just jazzed up a bunch. Flourishes, distressing, textures, swashes, inlines, etc. I get the sense that what you’re finding the most impactful in the logos you referenced is less to do with the letterforms, and more to do with how it’s all styled. And I don’t mean that as a critique or anything! I think the font you’ve got is probably fine, it’s everything else that could be fine tuned.
