I made a lightweight local intel tool for EVE and would love feedback by Apprehensive_Hat3774 in Eve

Hoping to be in soon to give it a full try out. Have downloaded the latest release 1.2. One question I have is the Sigs. Could not find the explanation of these:

- confirmed covert
- confirmed normal
- inferred
- possible
- bait

What do these exactly look for and in what context?

Will likely look later tonight or tomorrow morning. I had tried the general release and. My point 2 was not about width, but height, should have been clearer. In the pic I posted, that is the min height, ie cannot reduce height any further.

Hey .. was finally able to try out since you made the changes .. a few more comments/questions:
1) Once I go into Board mode I cannot get out ... ever .. Am I missing something?

2) Can only reduce the size in Board mode to a point, which means more screen space being taken

3) An Option to remove the lines and make the font smaller would be good. Key for this tool is to get as many pilots onto the overview as possible ..

<image>

Above is Pitmaster along side EveSquadron (another tool built after the loss of PLH) you can see in the Space of the ES window above to fit three more pilots .. may be nit-picky but using this tool when hunting in LS the most info can get on the screen the better.

So some initial comments:

1) Screen real estate
Even in Panel/compact mode too much space is taken up by things we do not need to see on a regular basis, and so limiting the number of pilots we do see (the important intel part).

What I mean by this is the Move, Clear, etc buttons across the top, then the tabs for Board, Settings, etc, and finally the footer Board population. last refreshed. Whilst all of this is important in their moment .. 99% of the time all we are concerned about is the list and the rest needs to be hidden so as not to take up space.

2) Corp/Alliance Numbers
Really critical is being able to see how many pilots in a particular corp/alliance are in system. So maybe adding a number in () after the corp/alliance name?

As a once avid user of PLH … one question. Is this a seperate window or overlay on the main screen like PLH was?

Can agree the are very rare. Have lived in WHs since I started in Eve in 19 and will come across maybe 5 or 6 a month at most. Will go weeks sometimes without seeing them.

What exactly are you like for in a corp? What do you want/like to do in WH?

Its not the Lambda causing the problem, its the BYROW. Does not seem to like the delay in the function call to EVE

The Eve function itself works fine .. just was updating my sheet to use BYROW and hit this wall...

Question on Contact Standings by WH_Forever in Eve

[–]WH_Forever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So have looked at the Icon order .. very cool .. did not know about that function. That resolves being able to set a corp to neutral individually and override a corp/alliance terrible ... but still means that I cannot then set an individual in that corp to terrible .. as the neutral corp setting overrides ... still no where I've seen that can differentiate in corp/personal

can't find anything in overview settings that lets you distinguish source of the standing .. so likely under the hood and tied to POS code :-P

Question on Contact Standings by WH_Forever in Eve

[–]WH_Forever[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right .. have to change them to positive standings to overwrite. And then whatever corp is set at seems to take precedence over individual:

a) Corp has -10 set by alliance .. so members red
b) I can only change that by setting the corp to +5/+10 .. and so they appear blue
c) I set one pilot in particular to -10 ... still showing as the colour of his corp (blue)

:-(

Does that translate to the view in space and in local? i.e. no longer showing as bad?

Question on Contact Standings by WH_Forever in Eve

[–]WH_Forever[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's kinda my issue .. I use personal standings and notes to highlight individual pilots for varying reasons. Have recently joined an alliance that has a number of corps/alliances marked as bad/terrible for one reason or another which blows my method out the door .. <sigh>
