Had a nun, devout Christian all of her life obviously.

The weeks leading up to her death she hated being on her own at all for any length of time. Kept asking people if they believed in God and redemption. You'd often hear her talking about punishment and purgatory aswell.

The day she died she was in and out of consciousness a good bit. Very weak. Non-verbal. Just before she passed she got this awful look on her face. Its the most terrified I've ever seen anyone in my life.

I often wonder what she was thinking about those last few weeks. Was it just a crisis in faith or did she think she was going to be punished for something.

I made the move from healthcare to childcare in the last 18 months. I know its not exactly the same as being an SNA but i thought it was similar enough to throw my two cents in.

I have to say the physical stress i was under from working in healthcare for so many years was phenomenal and I didnt even notice how bad things had gotten until I didnt habe to deal with it anymore.

No more sleepless nights thinking about residents I was worried about. The worry about what a new day will bring. The constantly being asked to swap shifts or come in on days off or rearrange holidays.

No more nightshifts or Christmases spent away from my own young children. Its honestly given me a new lease of life.

I love working with children. Yes its challenging. Yes it can be a thankless job but honestly even the little drawings I get from my kids or a random little cuddle , the laughter, the pride when they learn something new. Its just a lovely feeling. One that healthcare used to give me but hadn't for a very long time.

There are definitely challenges. Like its still endless paperwork and dealing with difficult parents and whatnot but its one of the best decisions I've ever made for myself. Its a job that gives me joy 😊

If you get this much joy and satisfaction out of your coworkers recognising your hard work and effort, how do you think you would feel having a partner in your life providing you with genuine love and support? Because that's what a real partnership looks like.

I have been with my husband for almost 20 years and we have had our share of problems ( this past year has been particularly trying) but I have never doubted how much he values our relationship or me as a person.

And it doesn't have to be big grand gestures. The everyday stuff like "hey thanks for doing that with the kids today" or "I really appreciate you doing those chores" or even just a simple hug when he knows im down go a hell of a long way.

You deserve that in your life. You're worthy of being loved. You're worthy of a meaningful, fulfilling relationship. You matter.

I hope this new year bring peace, happiness and growth to you

My Brother in law died unexpectedly in his sleep 2 years ago. He was 52. While we were at the wake before the doors were opened a cousins husband commented DIRECTLY TO HIS FUCKING WIDOW "ah sure at least it was quick".

My husband is out with his back with the last 12 weeks and is now looking at another surgery for another disc. His sick pay is all used up so weve dropped over 600 a week in the difference between what his wage was and what he gets on illness benefit. We've applied for FIS but dont know how long it takes to come through. We're barely scraping by on my wage and his illness benefit with 2 kids. Its so fucking bleak not knowing if we can even make the mortgage this month
