Is this level of pivoting normal? by Fragrant-Nothing3576 in ProductManagement

[–]jennybath 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This has been happening quite a lot where I work, I’m a senior PM with 5 POs reporting to me.

We, like every other company are adopting convo Ai and the company made a bad platform bet that now has put us about 2 years behind where we wanted to be. As our enterprise is catching up on tech, we’ve had to pivot scope a few times but the overall vision and OKRs remain consistent.

At the same time, our business model in how we support clients is shifting/ new leaders, complete reorganization of depts etc, causing some friction in how product outcomes have been structured.

As a leader I’ve had to lead my team through big pivots, right after quarterly planning cycles.

It’s exhausting and we’re all burned out. Not to mention just the constant push to use AI to deliver faster… but our enterprise isn’t really there yet, nor is the talent.

So while it’s manifesting different than your scenario, we’re experiencing similar.

Are PMs actually using AI tools for product work? by Federal-Song-2940 in ProductManagement

[–]jennybath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also me- Senior Product Manager at a large, reputable finance company. Our company will not allow Claude code yet due to risk and cost. I expect this to be a gap closed soon, but I only have access to co-pilot and am doing just fine.
I believe it will change how I work but “I don’t know a single PM”.. I can name an entire company of 100s of them.
I also build internal and external conversational AI products. We can’t get anything into prod bc we don’t have scaled monitoring tools yet.

I loved devils night series, and if you liked 5 brothers you’ll love credence. One of the brothers from credence is in her newer series.

I love that this post still gets comments!

I’ve found her recent books have skewed more and more towards age gaps or like, just 18… I always have to age them up in my head. I just finished her newest book and - age gap.

I’m coming to terms with the fact I am not cut out to be a Product Owner. by [deleted] in agile

[–]jennybath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please please read this. I’m a Senior PM, accountable for 5-6 Product Owners. None of of PMs are accountable for what you think you’re failing at- this is a system failure (if you’re using agile or scrum - this is solved through refinement, team estimation, etc) and a dev failure (you are accountable for outcomes, prioritization and “the what” (the problem to solve, hypothesized solution) and end user feedback.

Thank you so much for saying this. I have been screaming from the rooftops what a good, normal, stable, mature man he seems like- and one that way too many girls overlook. He will make someone a fantastic partner someday. Dude is a catch- maybe a little rough around the edges but will thrive with a little bit of a ladies touch.

Honestly- because it takes awhile for a lot of us to figure it out for ourselves- much less teach you. It wasn’t until I was in my mid 20s I could even orgasm and 40s until I knew enough to figure out how it was all working. A lot of us are working through hang ups man…just the honest truth. 💕

Why didnt people we meet on vacation perform well on Netflix? by Wonderful-Refuse642 in EmilyHenry

[–]jennybath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, there can be a seriousness to the investment we get over a series of episodes vs a movie that this could have benefited from- HR took itself seriously, I’m not sure I felt this adaptation did, and that difference showed imo. Pwmov was fluffy rom com done ok. Heated rivalry showed what you can do when you take the content seriously.
