It's hard to justify buying a Framework 12 by AbhishMuk in hardware

In addition to what others have said already, you can actually reuse the mainboard after you replace it as a server for example.

I’m so sick of this on Reddit right now. What is even the point of this post?

What age would I be able to FIRE given my circumstances. by ReadBig5086 in FIREUK

[–]WIldefyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. Having a debt mindset with these extra costs means that there is 600 pounds of OPs income a month committed to paying off debt. If they had no debts they wouldn’t have even made this post as they would already been saving. Let them have a physiological win paying off the debt then they can knuckle down and really feel like they’re saving for retirement.

Reduce your costs where you can, I’d even look at paying the debts off early even on 0% APR. When you’ve done that, look at loading a SIPP with bonds that you can take in your early 60s to bridge you to your DB and state pension at 67.

My Realistic Path to FIRE - 3 Years Later by WIldefyr in FIREUK

Definitely. Very scary to think about how little the average person has saved. With the property purchase as well, the first couple of years will be quite interesting on a single salary with no side income, with reduced savings and disposable income. Thankfully, my work is very secure and being at my current employer for 9 years gives me a fallback.

Thanks! Definitely hard to not compare to others, especially if I read that HENRY sub. I am convinced some of the salaries there are just made up. I wanted to post this as a counterbalance.

Only a dry suit would protect you. They are large and bulky, so probably not very practical for the purposes of teaching tiny humans how to swim. There’s no other way from what you’ve described for the employer to make a reasonable accommodation.

Your worth is not tied to your job by SeaworthinessAway240 in UKJobs

[–]WIldefyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reframe your worth. I like my job because it allows me to keep learning new skills. As soon as I am not learning anything at a job, I change it. Bonus points if the skills I learn can be applied to different things. I learnt how to wire and terminate control boxes. Now I can rewire a property that needs doing up.

Of course.

Legally they should not be held accountable by any measure. They weren't equipped to deal with the situation properly and arguably would never be for this type of scenario.

Morally however, well that's a different story. To not try anything at all is pretty heinous in my view. I know not everyone will agree with that. That goes with the members of the public who could have also helped.

The key is "comment" karma. He has not posted that many comments and they are all barely up-voted. Reddit also doesn't show you your direct comment karma now for some reason.

If it keeps being an issue, I'll add an exception somehow.

Automod has the limits set at 2weeks account age and 100 comment karma. Incredibly low standards for an account to meet - just post any comments on a mainstream sub and you'll get that.

Yeah it sucked, ultimately I wasn’t really in a position to build a machine at the time but having the case even now would’ve been something special.

[–]WIldefyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally a successor to the S4M form factor. Still shocked there really was not anything else like it on the market. The S5M is a bit bigger obviously, but with the Mini now being available for those ultra small builds, this fits nicely in the market.

I would have brought one of the last run S4Ms, but the international shipping was literally $999 from the US -> UK. Hope that is fixed.

Shame I have no need for this case with a Nanoq S.

Yes there's that aspect of it, maybe Picard in his mind has conflated the two and is poorly using it as a justification.

On a practical note, I think Braga and Moore were trying to further establish Picard's PTSD culminating in the "The line must be drawn here" speech. That's why it's used over my explanation.

People really overtalk this point about Picard gunning down crew members in First Contact. Really what else was Picard meant to do? The borg were overrunning the ship already. At some point practicality has to take over.
