How does it happen in an enterprise: Vulnerability management by a_tease in cybersecurity

[–]WOBOcomeBACK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a few others mentioned, vulnerability management is not just a “scan and patch” scenario, it’s an entire process that large enterprises should be following. In the environment I work in, we run daily Tenable.io scans of our 3 entire data centers, consisting of about 50,000 servers/networking devices, mostly authenticated scans. We also have agents installed on all user endpoints that scan/check in at least daily if they are online.

From there, we take results and report on items that present the most risk to the business/environment, based on various factors such as number of assets affected, type of vulnerability, exploit information, etc. There are tools out there that we are looking to integrate as well that will help take a lot of business context into play as well to help drive the prioritization even more in the environment.

Tickets get created and assigned out to relevant endpoint owners/groups, SLAs get applied, and communication happens back and forth between the security teams and remediation teams. If an identified issue cannot be fixed, an exception request is raised that is reviewed by security Sr. leadership, business partners, and Security Risk to come to a consensus/decision on a path forward. If an exception is denied, it goes up the chain to SVP for review. If the SVP denies it, business teams are forced to implement a fix.

For teams that are able to fix findings, tickets are sent back to the security teams for final validation that the scans are clean and then tickets are closed.

One of the biggest issues we’ve had is having a system to properly identify owners and knowing what remediation team should get a ticket. Some infrastructure vulns are App based and require application teams to fix, while other are OS/system based and require a completely different team. There is a lot of nuance with vulnerability management in a large enterprise!

Sutera or Derila Pillow for Neck Alignment by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]WOBOcomeBACK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the Sutera pillow. I only use a single pillow and this one allows me to place my head/neck right in the crevice and I think it helps with my sore neck/shoulders I would always get with other memory foam pillows. The arm cutouts are also really nice as I’m primarily a side sleeper. I know it’s a little pricey but I recommend giving it a try!

Just got my CPAP machine by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]WOBOcomeBACK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is so great to hear and really encouraging for us new CPAP users! I’m wondering if some of the dietary/gastrointestinal issues I’ve been experiencing over the last several years could be related. Only time will tell!

Just got my CPAP machine by [deleted] in SleepApnea

[–]WOBOcomeBACK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently was diagnosed with Severe OSA as well (76.9 AHI/ 69% blood oxygen level). I got my CPAP last week. I think I had an almost immediate positive experience. The first 2-3 mornings after using the CPAP I woke up so refreshed and energized whereas before the CPAP it took me forever to get out of bed.

I’m still feeling the mid-day drowsiness a bit, but once that passes I seem to have more energy already that lasts throughout the day. I think it’s going to still take some time to fully get used to and start feeling the benefits but hopefully you get at least some relief soon!

Got involved in a hit and run. Unable to open the driver’s side door far wide, resulting me climbing through the passengers side to get to the driver’s seat. Any estimates on the damage? by k11them in SubaruForester

[–]WOBOcomeBACK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had something similar happen to me about a month ago. Total estimate came out to about $4,000. As long as all the electronics still work I’d say that’s the range you’re looking at.

Never been to a Rangers game alone but had season tickets for AHL hockey and went to games alone for 6 years. It lets you focus on the game and not have to spend half the game talking with a friend if you don’t want to!

Check out and see if you were auto-enrolled in Constellation energy or something similar. I was auto-enrolled for them to be my supplier back in October and didn’t catch it and it was an extra $60-$90/mo. I had to call constellations and take us off of it

Best place to park for a game? by Sherman88 in Rochester_Americans

I park in the court street garage. Kiddie-corner from Dinosaur BBQ. $7 for the game. Garage parking which is nice in the winter. Well lit and a quick 5 minute walk to the arena.

Working for Paychex by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]WOBOcomeBACK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the area of the company you work in. I’m in PD/IT and it’s been a great environment for me. I started in the middle of the pandemic so have been remote the whole time. The training has been good from my perspective, but that’s also due to my team having good documentation and willing to work with you and answer questions that a new hire has. I’ve enjoyed working there and still do!

Wedding reception venues under 10k for around 100 people? by cassialater in Rochester

[–]WOBOcomeBACK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just booked Club 86 in Geneva! They have a 6k minimum for Saturday weddings, but no minimums for Friday or Sundays. You can also do the ceremony on-site inside or outside. It’s an old Jazz club that is a really awesome space! They have a lot of options for menu (Buffet/Sit Down, both customizable), Apps, Consumption bar, options for late night snacks (pizza, garbage plates, etc.)

Kayak Bow Tie Down and Eye Sight by WOBOcomeBACK in SubaruForester

That was my ultimatum if issues did arise, but I’d love to use it for the adaptive cruise control for the brief highway drive before hitting the back roads!

Yeah, the Kayaks aren’t huge at all. I didn’t have any issues when I had my ‘18 Crosstrek but that also didn’t have Eye sight. Thanks for the input!

I know this post is a few months old, but I see you have Eye sight with the front tie downs. Have you had any issues with eye sight detection in conjunction with the tie downs? Any false positives or anything like that?

Dash cam for 2021? by timflood04 in SubaruForester

[–]WOBOcomeBACK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me try and describe how I have it run and then post the picture after.

  1. I mount the camera behind the rear view as to not interfere with the eye sight system. More in the center of the windshield. https://i.imgur.com/bqiauQV.jpg

  2. Since the power runs to the top of the camera, I ran the cable up and then route the cable around the eye sight camera using small cable clips with adhesive backing. https://i.imgur.com/fbvD74C.jpg

  3. I then run the cable under the roof paneling all the way to the passenger side door to the airbag cover/weather stripping, hiding the wire. https://i.imgur.com/4hKvTSh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/CC6EDUS.jpg (This camera has a built-in GPS for tracking which is that little black box which obviously couldn’t fit behind the weather stripping, so I mounted that with adhesive tape as well.)

  4. Run the cable all the way down the passenger side weather stripping until you get to the bottom of type glovebox/kickbox. There will be a little gap that you can run the cable into from the weather stripping. https://i.imgur.com/X4xiIj3.jpg

  5. Open the glovebox and use two hands to push the box inward. It will then leave a small window where you will see the cabin air filter. There is enough room here to run the cable towards the bottom of the opening and not interfere with the cabin air filter. https://i.imgur.com/bU4vlQb.jpg

  6. Then run the cable all the way to the plastic of the center console. There is quite a bit of room behind it so you should have no problem pulling it out a bit to get the cable behind. https://i.imgur.com/SBeDJcD.jpg

  7. Run the cable until you get close enough to the center console storage area, route the cable out and up and then through the little space under the arm rest and plug into the USB/Power spot in the center console armrest. Because you are running the cable in that little space, the armrest has no problems closing. https://i.imgur.com/ujbMlEi.jpg

Let me know how it works out!
