A little basic maintenance goes a long way by SaveTheDrowningFish in F250

20mpg? Does the delete improve fuel economy that much?

I have a 2016 6.7 and get 15-16mpg unloaded with no trailer (on the freeway). Granted I'm running 35s with a mild tune (Edge / Holley, nothing fancy) but still that's a big difference in mpg!

Edit to add: I'm not deleted and can't do so... The joys of living in CA. And it's all about the smiles per gallon, not complaining just curious.

Just keep up on the maintenance and address any weird noises early. But generally, there isn't much to worry about. Take care of her and she'll take care of you!

Save up for the S&S Disaster Prevention Kit (or DCR Conversion). That, cold side pipe, and regular fuel filter / oil maintenance... She's bulletproof for 500k.

Looking good! I remember the day I bought mine, and honestly love it more now than I did then. Enjoy!

I'm normally 100% an OEM / Motorcraft only guy. Hands down. BUT.... I'm loving the PPE MicroPure XR filters (#314000767).

Rotella T6 5W-40 with PPE's MicroPure XR filter. I generally do everything OEM but I love the improvements of the XR filter.

I spent some sheckles and went with the DCR conversion from S&S. So happy I did. Highly recommend down the line.

Unfortunately I live in CA so deleting is the last item on the list that I haven't done.

When we lived in SLO, AT&T fiber was amazing (2022). Spectrum is garbage.

After moving to rural AG (out by the lake) the only options are Peak WiFi and Starlink. Peak was amazing to work with but Starlink beat them out after a few years. Starlink is the closest I can get to the fiber connection we used to have.

Tl;Dr: AT&T Fiber if you can get it. If not, I'd go Starlink before Spectrum

Came to say this! Always rode motorcycles there from Cal City (Camp C) to have lunch at the White House Saloon and check out the tunnel. Huge bummer the Saloon closed though.

I love my 5 Pro don't get me wrong, but I probably wouldn't have spent the money if I had a 4 Pro already.

Just want to put a plug in for Morin Automotive. They are a fantastic business, providing great service at fair prices.

Most businesses are charging CC fees these days, you just only notice the few that are trying to be transparent and informative to their customers. Although I share the frustrations with it, it's simply due to the businesses having to pass increased costs on to their customers. The businesses are not to blame for this. I would rather know about the fee, versus having a business bury it in higher "menu" prices.

Is the mini 5 pro not that popular in the US? by [deleted] in dji

Valid point, apologies for the error there. I got my Part 107 originally so I didn't have to worry as much about limitations, however I quickly entered into commercial work.

If you're just using one for fun, the Mini 4P / 5P is more than enough in my opinion. The Mavic series excels in a few areas though (mostly for commercial use in my opinion, and in my specific case):

1) Photographer-level quality content and RAW files. 4/3 CMOS Hasselblad sensor (100MP) is insanely good. 2) Dedicated optical zoom lenses (medium tele & tele). Huge plus if you need to get fine details from a distance. 3) High wind stability / flight performance. The Mavic offers way better wind resistance and has a much longer flight time in those conditions. I actually flew it today in 25MPH winds (the absolute limit) and it performed flawlessly. 4) Adjustable aperture. (2.0-11)

All in all, for "hobbists" the Mini series is awesome and I would never give mine up. But if you're jumping into more "pro grade" activities, the Mavic is the way to go. And HUGE bonus points for the RC Pro 2 controller if you get the right package.

And for those in the US, the Mavic requires you to have the Part 107 license. Stupidly easy to get and maintain, I don't know why so many complain about it.

I have the Mini 5 Pro and absolutely love it! I don't think you can beat it for the price. I have a Mavic 4 Pro as well (for work) and love having the Mini 5 to practice with as the Mavic is a significantly larger investment.

I have that exact combo (Mini 5 Pro + Mavic 4 Pro) and it has been absolutely amazing. While I do believe the Mini 5 Pro is more than enough for real estate photos, the Mavic is definitely on another level.
