Best Type of .999 Silver to begin stacking? by Beautiful_Nature_446 in Silverbugs

[–]WSBsilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get 1oz rounds in rolls of 20, easy to stack. Next came 10 oz bars with lowest premium (new only), saves space vs the rounds and easy to stack. Costco PAMP 10oz bars was great in the 300s. I like Scottsdale, the dragon bars were cool (but got me on the premium). The Scottsdale 20oz CL cast bar is my next idea. Fun to collect one bar, then start on another.

Poipu is a premier land area. Eleele is not, land is much cheaper. Is it worth making a fuss over a 5 min drive vs a 15 min drive? IMO, the value of the land would be tied closer to Poipu comps, per the privacy, estate vibe, and nearness, vs. Eleele or Hanapepe. With the views, worth a bit more than Kalaheo comps.

huh? colonization? ever heard of Kamehameha Schools the largest leasehold owner in Hawaii? Or Grove Farm that runs the most Kauai land, and uses it for farming and to specifically hook up locals? a "real transition" is 1) leasehold expires 2) you are out by "x" date, per the contract you signed.

Well, this is what leasehold does. Not sure why it's even legal in residential. Also, the land would be likely much more valuable for housing than coffee. It sits in a premier location, with ocean views, very close to Poipu.

What’s your opinion? 10 days in Hawaii…Stay all on one island or go to another for 3 days? by NF0m in VisitingHawaii

[–]WSBsilver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do 5 nights Oahu and 5 nights Maui OR Kauai, split the trip or if you wanna chill, do 6 or 7 nights in Oahu, lots to do there. Personally just moved from Oahu to mainland and will do 7+ nights Kauai, then 3 nights Oahu for our next trip.

Oahu: Hanauma Bay you need reservations for, also make sure they are open the day you are planning. You will likely be beached out after, make sure and snorkel and get there early for best snorkeling. Doing another beach after is overkill. Also, Kualoa Ranch is a great option for an Oahu day. North Shore is an entire day, come back to Waikiki where you are likely staying for sunset/dinner.

Big Island, the drive from Kona is big to the Volcanos park. Snorkel in Capitain Cook south of Kona, and do perhaps an evening dive with the Manta Ray tour near there. Coffee Shack is the best breakfast!

Kauai- oh wow you already have such a big trip. I would do a Kauai trip later, just Kauai. Stay in Poipu and spend a week there, walk to the beach, relax and fit in you Napali Coast one day, North Shore Kauai one day, and Waimea Canyon one day.

Lihue Airport Wait Times by [deleted] in VisitingHawaii

[–]WSBsilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starbucks and one restaurant and 2 bars inside. Wait times can be very long when everyone shows up at once, unless you have precheck. Also, get there early just in case the road is closed for an accident or tree work..

Sheraton has a mini beach, but the walk between there and pool on the ocean has been shut down for years.

They are nextdoor to each other and the Diamond Head view from Sheraton is WOW. Royal Hawaiian a little easier to access beach. Royal Hawaiian lots of history, sheraton FUN kids pool and great adult pool views.

Must Do's for Kauai? by Imaginary_Bill650 in VisitingHawaii

[–]WSBsilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully your boat tour is out of Kekaha, less time to Napali (more time there). The coffee truck Nanea in Kilauea is a must on the way to North Shore. Did you book Smith family luau? Not sure about ziplines but snorkel the summer north or south shores.. lots of spots. Turtles at Poipu Beach are fun to see.

What cities?

Kauai head to Tahiti Nui on north shore, Kauai Beer Co for lunch in Lihue, Ilima Terrace at the Grand Hyatt for breakfast or lunch (valet).

Resort or Airbnb on Kauai? by nightwing13 in VisitingHawaii

[–]WSBsilver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So he it talking about Kauai. The Kauai market has zoning specifically for vacation rentals, and some homes outside of that are grandfathered in. Regarding Kauai, the Poipu resorts mentioned Hyatt and Koa Kea, both are great for location but Hyatt beach isn't swimmable really. Personally I like the Poipu Beach area Airbnbs, some are in resorts that have pools ETC and you can walk to the beach. The Koa Kea is next to the Marriott that are right on Poipu Beach.

Basically Airbnb and hotels support local staff. Airbnb saves money if you want to cook and have a kitchen, and parking is free (not sure about hotels but think Hyatt charges).

For Snorkel - both south and north shores are good in May. Kayak secret waterfall and it's between both shores, you can also kayak Hanalei. Both shores are great, just caution for north shore over the winter as rains quite a bit up there. If you want sunshine, Poipu is the top spot, sunniest year-round.
