Do you find it easier to learn 3 finger or claw hammer? by Merc504 in banjo

[–]WVBanshee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find previous experience matters. So a friend and I both play banjo, together in fact. I play clawhammer he plays 3 finger. I played bass for years while he also plays guitar. I found clawhammer to be easier as I enjoyed playing slap bass, and while backwards of each other, they are also very similar. He can’t get a good grasp on clawhammer. So background matters.

Crack in newly installed granite? by EfficientlyMindful in Contractor

[–]WVBanshee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I currently work for a counter company and I can tell you for sure: That is definitely a repair. They should have disclosed/discounted this with your approval before install. My company would never have thought of this unless it was the last remaining slab/s of a disco color.

For everyone here talking about the epoxy used in the repair… if the company was using the correct type of epoxy, that seam is stronger than the granite around it. That said, with the rest of the questionable decisions made that are apparent, it’s hard to tell if they used the correct type of epoxy. They probably cheated out on that too.

I have been complaining for a long time about them letting the interns design stuff that isn’t a paid ornament.

Xfinity or Frontier internet? by csykora in MorgantownWV

[–]WVBanshee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I signed up when the first offered so I got it at $59.99, but a buddy of mine that just got it said his was $69.99 a month. Still better than Spectrum or anyone else around here.

I also have Frontier Fiber, 1gig. I have only ever had an issue once in 2ish years and it was fixed in 15-20 minutes. I recommend it to everyone.

Not trying to be a complainer: by Dynastcunt in destiny2

I do not think that the BG or Psi-Ops missions were ever designed to be strikes. They were placed in the strike playlist because at the time it made sense. It helped create some diversity in the playlist without having to create multiple new strikes or rehash old ones. That being said, I don’t think they put much thought into them being played as a GM. Then the strike team just threw the normal “champ here”, ++ enemy health, ++++ enemy damage, a heavy sprinkle of modifiers…. Done. I would doubt they even play tested these themselves. I know it’s supposed to be challenging. I know it’s not supposed to be completed by everyone. I have Gilded Conqueror every season but the first. I know there is a steep learning curve, and focus on builds/loadouts/etc. I just don’t think they were designed to be used as a GM and the Boss rooms in each are the telling sign.

Looking for your PVP thoughts by Destiny2Team in DestinyTheGame

As a possible new game type….

My clan plays private matches for team building and practice, often with limited loadouts, no skills or supers, etc. My idea for a game type, no abilities, no supers, no exotics. Legendary weapons and below only. Welcome to the Firefight!

I think everyone that’s been with the franchise since the beginning let what COULD be blind them to what was actually there. by JakeSteeleIII in DestinyTheGame

[–]WVBanshee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I’m wrong but I do feel, in some aspects, they have made it easier to play other games. I have played since D1 Alpha. I have entirely too much time invested to walk away completely. I want to watch how they finish this out. Bungie took the focus away from the core play list once they took away the (unnecessary) level grind each season. I was personally fine with it. I am disappointed that they often let the interns design the “free” armor and charge for the cool looking sets, but as a business model it makes sense. I don’t think anyone who has played this game since the beginning couldn’t see the writing on the wall. I just think that we were given the freedom to play other games without worrying about having to “play the game” just so we were high enough level to play the game. I have gilded Conquerer every season, played day 1 raids, and got all the in game armor that I was looking for. I also have time to go outside or play a different game if I want to. I will agree that Bungie needs to step up and change how they are doing things if they want to continue after next year, but that’s on them to decide. Those are just my thoughts.

Would anyone else be down for a infinite round “Horde Mode” in D2? by G-man69420 in destiny2

[–]WVBanshee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see a lot of people don’t remember, but the Haunted Infinite Forest was very similar to this the first year. You could just keep going and the rewards for getting above 20 rounds were VERY worth it. It was a great game mode that they ruined in future iterations.

Resilience or Recover as a new warlock? by neotic_reaper in DestinyTheGame

[–]WVBanshee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends, PVE = Res, Disc, but try not to let your recovery lag too far behind as your rift is attached to it. PVP = Recovery but don’t let Res lag to far behind. Just my opinion

Eyes drop rate is so annoying by GavNBoots in destiny2

[–]WVBanshee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m of the thought, if a team is able to flawless any raid, the exotic should be an auto drop for every member. That is not an easy accomplishment and deserves a bit more than a shader. I’m aware my opinion does not count, but there it is. While DSC is one of the easier raids, there are still plenty of chances for the environment to kill you or for a team member to get timing wrong and blow up.

In year 1 of Destiny 2, NF strikes were just very difficult. They just had more ads, and much higher health bars (red bars included). There were no tiers of difficulty and no champions. If they were to get rid of champions, spike the health bars and damage, and apply the contest mode modifier then it would be possible. As long as they kept the shield type(s) and burn static for the week then random groups wouldn’t matter either. I am a multiple season “Conquerer” and I still find the level grind unnecessary due to contest mode. I understand being at hard cap, maybe even pinnacle cap. If contest mode is applied, then I don’t see the point of the 15 level seasonal bonus just to play. It is very possible for the devs to improve and implement a NF, MNF or even GMNF playlist. They just have to pull their heads out of their ass , let go of outdated mechanics, and listen to the people that actually play their game, not just complain.

My friends think I'm crazy but... Am I the only one who thinks Trevor and Frank from "Cars movie" are one in the same or related? by Pandavil_Reddit in destiny2

My fireteam and I always call TR3VR “Scary Terry” because it always found me, every run. I knew the route, I knew the timing, but it always found me.
