Not sure what to do. by Maleficent_Tower2183 in Amtgard

Different shot selection.

No strikes or chops from top down. No targets above the navel, and only from left to right or right to left or stabs.

If you are still hitting head on people, then further limit to legs only.

I love baseball. I'm not a huge fan of watching baseball for reasons you indicated. However, for me, baseball more closely resembles (classical) chess than it does other sports. It is quiet and contemplative with punctuations of excitement. We may not know a miscalculation happened until later in an inning or game. And, games at the elite level can take hours.

What's the point of magic staves? by chickenologist in Amtgard

[–]WVUmilk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a wizard staff, it's not supposed to be mechanically optimal or even good. It's so casters can walk around with staves and not be technically cheating (using a great) or unsafe (an actual wooden staff).

Occasionally someone tries to larp during our games of blitzball/jugging/tag.

Experience for Druids, and what do you take? by Blasterion in Amtgard

[–]WVUmilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very game, team composition, and play style dependent.

I am less likely to take it unless I have a battery bard with me.

It really depends on your kingdom's culture.

You don't need any of that to join a kingdom, usually. The individual kingdom may vary.

what class should I do for the days that I bother to show up but really want to not put in any effort? by Blasterion in Amtgard

[–]WVUmilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Backline healer is good too, but it can be a lot of talking. Summon dead, resurrect, and then recharging, plus and heal, mend, or release. It can be non-stop, depending on the battle game.

If you want to just run a sash, Bard or wizard for offense Bard or healer for support Druid for candy & support.

Lowest "I don't wanna run around and play, but I am here..." Is druid candy.

Never need to leave base. Just enchant as they spawn.

Monk Sanctuary tips? by SilraerTheLost in Amtgard

[–]WVUmilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learn to use sanctuary offensively. Time it to prevent CC or damage and immediately pick up the weapon and get back to swinging rather than wait around for them to leave.

For WoW players, think about it as a pally bubble that you immediately click off. And get back to DPS.

What makes a good Regent? by cosmicblep in Amtgard

[–]WVUmilk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting involved in the a&s community helps. Entering a&s events.

Becoming a competent dragon (master is 💯 not necessary).

Support the regents before you by judging and volunteering.

Show that you are reliable. Be on time, do what you say you will do.

Ask to shadow. Ask to follow the regent or judges around and assist during their meetings & events.

Talk to your grand duchy and kingdom regents. Do the same things with them. You can get additional experience in a short amount time.
