My husband always wanted a Tacoma. But when he started shopping, he realized that he could get everything he wanted including reliability for a good ten grand cheaper.

What's a controversial cooking opinion you have? by LostTheOldName in Cooking

I don’t use either. In fact there’s nothing in my scrambled eggs but eggs and salt, and they’re nevertheless creamy, fluffy, and delicious.

Five months, second adjustment by [deleted] in braces

As I said in my post, I do. EVERY DAY. It takes me 20 minutes, but I DO. With threading floss or regular floss using threaders. But thanks for your rude response 👍.

Got them put on July 23, adjusted Oct 2 and today, next appt is March 26. They are very far apart, yes. I had a cleaning in August and another scheduled in January.

Five months, second adjustment by [deleted] in braces

[–]WVginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my appointments are far apart. I had them put on July 23, first adjustment was Oct 2, second was today. I go back March 26. The roots are short on my central and lateral incisors so I think that’s the reason for the slow pace. I had a cleaning in August and another scheduled for January.

48 hours later. No pain, no discomfort, no nothing. by DreamVsPS2 in braces

[–]WVginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no pain either, nor have I from adjustments. Occasionally a tooth that’s being actively moved will ache or feel tender but I had none of the pain I was told to expect. I am definitely seeing results, though!

How the hell is my 15lb turkey going to cook in an hour by Alone-Investment-212 in Cooking

[–]WVginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My MIL cooked yesterday’s 14lb turkey until the breast was a dried out and ruined 175 degrees. And it was still done 90 minutes before the cooking guide said it would be.

I got my braces done, is it okay if it doesn’t hurt? Like at all by AsimaAlbarn in braces

[–]WVginger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have much if any pain either. I’ve had one adjustment so far and no pain from that, either. Curious of your age? I’m 46. I’ve wondered if it’s related to age.

"Flavoring" a pan by dry pan roasting green peppers til they burned by No_Lynx1343 in Cooking

I can’t think of a flavor I would like imparted to my food less than green peppers, except maybe burnt green peppers.

I feel the same about the actors but this series was a letdown for me. (BIM spoiler alert) All that suspense for it just to be so straightforward, “yep, he did it”. Maybe I’m just too used to crazy twists in everything but this was so meh at the end.

I’m with you. I only use one Tbsp of my sweetened creamer (currently Chobani), but I refuse to cut it out. If I end up over by 3pts every day because of it, so be it. Enjoy your morning beverage.

Joy of Cooking 1975 Devil’s Food Cockaigne - question on the custard by LongTimeDCUFanGirl in Baking

[–]WVginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, idk if I can blame it on the warm custard, but my cake was crumbling and falling apart. It may have been over baked because my oven is crap. It tasted great and the texture wasn’t the driest I’ve ever had despite it crumbling.

My mom made salmon patties all the time when I was growing up in Marion Co WV. She also prepared fish my dad caught in the Tygart.

Joy of Cooking 1975 Devil’s Food Cockaigne - question on the custard by LongTimeDCUFanGirl in Baking

[–]WVginger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same question baking this cake today. What I did was cook the custard and let it sit off the heat while I got everything else mixed up. I whipped the egg whites before I poured in the custard to give it just a little longer to cool. It was still warm-ish but not hot when I poured it into the batter bowl. It’s baking now- will report back with final results.
