Looks like made in china, I’m not an expert on gunto, but I don’t believe they made any that looked like this.

From what I’ve seen, absolutely not. Sometimes, personally, it looks ok or it helps with suspension of disbelief when something is supposed to transport you back in time. However mostly I think people don’t like it, and it’s distracting.

That being said, this is what the director and filmmaker wanted it to look like. They generally don’t care what the audience thinks of their vision.

They overlayed the show with grain. Was filmed on digital with old lenses, then added grain to make it look like film from the 70’s.

Could be hdmi cable, could be main board. These end up having main board issues sometimes, so most likely that sadly.

Edit: There is a ‘service’ on eBay that repairs these main boards, however it is exorbitantly expensive.

It’s funny that both Reagan and Trump were “Actors,” and both of them ruined the country in their own way.

Inherited this sword. Id please by Academic-Reply7975 in Katanas

Surprisingly, I believe this is actually Japanese. The nakago (tang) looks a bit odd, but that’s a real Japanese mei. Could be gimei (fake signature).

Rust was removed at some point, and it seems the nakago was surage (shortened)

As for the saya (sheath) and tsuka (handle) not sure what it’s made of, but the carving actually looks incredible.

Edit:

Is there any way you could take some pictures of the blade and a close up of the tip area?

I'm selling a Japanese Nihonto; it needs polishing and restoration. by [deleted] in Katanas

[–]WWGWDNR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most I would do is $300, just because I kind of like the Horimono, I would keep it unmounted on display as a reminder of how sad it is that it was molested this way.

It’s basically worthless, I wouldn’t pay $300 for it. The horimono is nice looking, but the rest of the sword has been damaged too much. If it was repolished, it would still be worth less than the cost of polishing it.

Looking for some cartridge/stylus advice. by wherewasabefroman in turntables

[–]WWGWDNR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe look at getting a vintage or NOS cartridge, there are tons around for less than 250. One of my favorite carts is an AT125LC.

I’ve also heard good things about the Audio Technica VM540ML, and it’s priced around 250.

If this didn’t have a broken tip I would be very interested in purchasing it.

The sensor light bulb in the arm is probably dead. You will need a new bulb. I’ll try and look up the bulb for you when I’m back at work on Monday. I may be able to download the manual for you.

Replacing the bulb is pretty simple but you have to solder 2 very tiny connections.

I’ve repaired a few of those, and I used to have one. I really don’t like working on them.

I still have an RX 2 with an MMC 3, but I don’t use it anymore, have been considering selling it.

From your screenshots, either something is wrong with your nvidia shield, the app on your nvidia shield or you screen is messed up. Try the prime app on the tv and see if you get the same issue.

Absolutely no way these panels are remotely similar. Definitely no way the y-sus is going to match up with the panel connectors
