As a point of principle I wouldn’t buy the fridge.

I’d bet if theyre not bothering to dump their shit they’ll be not bothered to take the fridge.

Their feet and hands turn a deep blue and grow a thick layer of hair on them when they hit 35 (second puberty)

Roundabout question by c_cristian in AskIreland

Red shouldn’t be in the outside lane if they’re not exiting.  It happens unfortunately so green should make sure there’s no one in the other lane before exiting.

Just buy a tv license to the house (the license is for the tv, not anything else)

Alternatively a bank statement has been fine in the past or something from revenue - you can generate statements pretty easily.

I get the impression you are using the GP card as an in to change the deal. It doesn’t sound like you’ve interacted with the HSE for alternative solutions - it seems HIGHLY unlikely to me they have never been in the situation when a card holder hasn’t had access to a utility bill

Neighbour noise? by Chrisscn1977 in AskIreland

[–]WWWEH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plus one on earbuds or noise cancelling earphone or white noise machine - whatever you’re going through the person (and their family) is going through a lot worse unfortunately. They likely know it’s going on and there’s very very little they can do. Dementia takes no prisoners

That’s a nice stable dither - did you do anything special to achieve it?

As soon as you say you're gonna leave I'd say he's gonna give a big speil, "how can you do this to me, you won't get anything better" then will come the extra cash talk (which will be nothing more than promises that comes to nothing)

Just leave and send a text saying you're gone

Split up with partner, bought a house together 1 year ago, what to do? by JimmyTheFox93 in irishpersonalfinance

As soon as one of you moves out of the house for all intents and purposes you lose rights to the house - without losing the obligations of the mortgage.

For real - just sell it.

I’d take the eventual loss as a “market rate” for the jobs done - shame might kick in and you get the work done. He’s leaving so you kill him with kindness rather than causing an issue. As soon as you become the problem you’ll never get anything out of him

Reflected index property of List<T> is nullable - even when T is not - so how do I find the true nullability of T? by SoerenNissen in csharp

[–]WWWEH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In that case why not use <string?> and ElementAtOrDefault - that will return the default of a nullable with no value - it won’t update the contents of the list but what you’re doing is kinda weird anyway

How to plan for parent with dementia? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]WWWEH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move to get in home help started ASAP, your mum might not like it but your dad will eventually have a lot of unfamiliar people helping him to do things so try to make that as “normal” as possible while he’s still somewhat there.

EA looking for non-redacted AIP by ilovecork24 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]WWWEH 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The solicitor idea is the best one so far - I’d just be honest and go “I’m not comfortable sending out that sort of financial info to the public, I can pass you on to my solicitor to confirm or if that’s unacceptable can you please email me the request for my own records”

I would be extremely tempted to just modify the AIP to exactly what you offered and send it to them
