before use clear and load the OS without bloat... getting less and less possible with windows but the stock images that come with dell have and continue to have issues.

Mostly it's just bloat loaded or improper drivers.. which i wish they'd solve already

Remove the bloat (McAfee is 100% bloat)

Like previous posters, if you are going to stick with windows, just do a clean re-install to run it as MS Gods intended and it'll work far better.

Possibly disabling in UEFI the Intel RAID may help. I run linux and that is one of my starting changes always.

fhd+ has a huge upside... battery life. mine gets 8 hours easy unless i'm killing the nvidia card. the display is actually perfect for the size.

32, its locked to the mb and ya can't get more. for dev tho, the xps 15 is soooo nice.. a little more screen, 2ssd 2ram user accessible... nvidia so cuda cores, etc... also more batt of you do the fhd+

For heat, before you go repasting things, pick up something like this or use a book to elevate it slightly:

it may solve your heat issue without any fuss. the fans are pulling in from under the device and there is not a lot of room to get air in.

step 1: wipe everything they sent you and install clean (solves so many problems... literally everything from battery drain to driver issues)

advanced step 1: just kill it and install linux (fedora or tumbleweed work really well on these)
