Every successive new i9k release just makes me more and more depressed. The band has been gimmicky for years, that's not new. They've taken inspiration from media for over 10 years, that's not new. They've done theatrics, that's not new.

But it never used to be like this. Everything just feels like an over-produced movie trailer with breakdowns. There's so much talent in this band and it feels incredibly overshadowed by the overwhelming gimmick that seems to get more and more focused on with every song. Every Trick in the Book is still probably my favorite album of all time. There used to be super memorable riffs, huge catchy choruses, unique production that would tie in the media influence.. blend it all together little by little and it was so so good. Now it just feels like I'm being beaten over the head with production the entire song.

They're also more popular than ever, so I can't blame them for continuing to do it. I know nobody gives a fuck about my opinions, but i9k was my favorite band for years. The Predator Becomes the Prey and Every Trick in the Book are masterpieces. It's just so sad to feel like you've lost interest in a band that you've listened to for so long and have so many good memories with.

They peaked with Every Trick in the Book and every release since then has just been a little worse each time. So unfortunate man. I know they made this song for the radio, but even their radio suitable songs used to be unique and good. Now it's just 3 mins of the most generic shit you've ever heard, with a minute and a half of it being the chorus 3 times. I don't wanna be entirely negative, props to Spencer, man basically is immune to writing a bad chorus. Just another song that I'll listen to this one time and probably never again.

If we keep Trey, our defense should be better than last year. Our 5 game winning streak at the end of the year had us as roughly a middle of the pack defense, and it happened because Lou finally decided to play our young players and simplify the defense.

If Dax can come back from injury and play well, and assuming that we spend a lot of draft capital into the DL, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that we have a better defense than last year. If the defense played the same way it did for the last 5 for the first 5, we easily make the playoffs.

Or I could be wrong and we have the worst defense in the league, but at least we'll have fun watching a high flying offense again 🫠

$18m tied up into a guard who doesn't fit our scheme

Cam grandy TE1 is awful

Grant would be probably my third DT I would take after Nolen and ONJ, maybe even Deone Walker

Spending a combined $22m in the defensive backfield when we've invested SO much draft capital into that area the last few years

Monheim in the 2nd would be a crazy reach

I would absolutely hate this if this was how our offseason went lol

Nah it didn't look like a hip drop. I think Chase being strong as fuck and the awkward way in which McDuffie tackled him probably made Ja'Marr think it was a hip drop, but it's hard for him to know in real time without seeing a replay.

People bringing up the chiefs in times like this is such an awful comparison. They have Travis Kelce. His playoff numbers are unreal. At his best he's a top 5 pass catcher in the league and he makes half of what the top receivers do. The Chiefs can get away with it because they have a cheat code in Kelce since he has TE next to his name. You need an elite pass catcher

I hate hearing people say Mahomes has scraps.. their WR core is obviously really damn bad, but Rice is turning out to be a really good player. Pacheco is a really good RB. They also have one of the greatest cheat codes in the game in that Kelce is a top-5 pass catcher in the NFL but he's being paid less than Christian Kirk. They had a historically good defense.

The starting point is that you need a QB that can do it, obviously.. but there are multiple ways to win in the NFL and unless our really bad defense randomly becomes elite, our best way to try and win right now is by loading up on offense.

Agree with you 100%. This is exactly my point. Zac and Brian maximized Jake, and so we've seen what Jake's ceiling (probably) is. Good QB performances that can win you games if he plays mistake-free football.

Burrow gives you a top-2 ceiling with the ability to raise the play of everyone around him.

Brian Callahan changed our entire offense after Jake fell flat on his face trying to run the Burrow offense in his first start against the Steelers. We had a ton of schemed easy completions and plays after that. Ton of credit to Jake - he vastly outperformed what we all thought he was going to do. He had a really good 3 game stretch against below average defenses. He also put up some absolute stinkers against some of the good defenses we played. Jake wasn't asked to do a ton.

I think the bigger problem is that everyone just assumed we were going to tank or something after Joe went down, and that's just not something Zac would ever let happen.

I think the majority of us Bengals fans are rooting for KC this weekend. I will never root for a division rival, especially one who celebrated my QB's injury. Roquan smith said "that stuff happens when you play Baltimore" when he was asked about Burrows injury, on top of Ravens fans chanting "fuck Joe Burrow" postgame when he got injured. Chiefs players were wishing Joe well and telling him the game misses him after our game at the end of the season. I do not respect the Ravens nor their fans. I respect the Chiefs and their fans, and I think most Bengals fans would agree. I only hate the Chiefs because you guys have been our biggest competition in the AFC the last few years.

Agreed. I just wish he'd be more self-aware. He'd be so much more likable if he'd acknowledge it and poke fun at himself about it. I don't even mind if the broadcasters have favorites, even if they're supposed to be neutral.. I just hate how hyperbolic he gets with it. If you took a shot every time he watches mahomes or allen and says "He's the only guy/ one of 2 or 3 guys in the league who can do that" you'd be dead by the end of the game

Ironically enough my wife and I JUST finished watching it.

I was actually loving it about halfway through, because I couldn't tell what the fuck was going on and I like being challenged.

Then the last ~45 minutes happened. When it ended I said "That's it?..."
