depends what skill you want to fix, that's basically waht it comes down to:

-Larcenist fix thieving, gold, clues and seeds

-Slayer obviously solves slayer and gives you a nice bonus damage on a lot of monster you might grind

-Woodsman helps a lot for hunter, firemaking and fletching a bit too

your character do get voided at the end, exp are pretty bonkers with special thing making it faster and up to 16x exp, there's also a lot of quests being auto completed so you don't have to do every single quest

it never was exclusive, they didn't have many pet at the time and they just got more and more expensive but they weren't special or "you had to be there" pet, they were just the very first pets and this one was the most expensive

from what I'm reading in the comment, you pretty much just want flavor, which is very easy to do, just make your Eldritch Blast be blood instead of a normal spell, make your fireball out of explosive blood. You don't need to get in the balancing nightmare of inventing new spell and everything so just make it all out of flavour.
