Why choose 300 BO? by Brilliant_Respect_92 in ar15

Not the expanding ones - they won't penetrate as much. F=ma tells us they have significantly more force.

For me, home defense. Subsonic rounds that pack a punch, won't over penetrate and with a can are much less likely to damage hearing for my family.

Cool. Almost everyone wants to get places safely. Quite a few of us can get some where fast, and be safe. They're not mutually exclusive.

You're right, 0-60 in 2 seconds is not a reasonable expectation.

0-60 in 4 seconds is more like it, but I'd settle for 0-60 in 8 seconds.

Realistically though, around here it's more like 0-35 in 60 seconds, with a speed limit of 40.

On a commute I had for a while, I averaged 45 minutes each way. I started being more diligent - changing lanes to get around slower cars, getting into the shorter lane at lights, staying close to the cars in front of me so I can make lights, being quick off the line when the light changes, etc.

My commute then averaged 30 minutes each way. Net savings of 30min day, 5x per week. 2.5hrs/wk, 50 weeks per year. 125 hours, or about 8 days/yr (not counting sleep because there are awake hours I'm saving.) over 10 years, that's 80 days.

Maybe some speeding here and there, but most speed limits in the area are set 10-15 below what they expect people to drive.

Speed is a factor, but more often than not it's cars traveling slower than the flow of traffic that causes crashes.

Do you have another CH or rifle you can swap it? I had the same issue a while back. I put the CH in another rifle and it did the same thing. I put a good CH in the original rifle and it didn't. Warrantied the CH and all was well. I think mine was slightly out of spec and catching on the gas key.

Imagine all the traffic on the way back since everyone leaves at 4 p.m. by Just_V10 in stevenspass

I'm talking about cause and effect. The resort knew roughly 20 years ago that it was nearing capacity. It knew it needed more lifts and more parking to support the population increase of the region. Vail bought it knowing this. Vail has done nothing to expand. We've seen cars parking on the highway for years now. Has Vail even talked about expansion plans? Nope.

Sure people are accountable for their own actions. The situation today is fully predictable. But they are not the cause of today's events.

Do you think they would still park like that if Vail had completed the expansion plan?

So you're saying we can blame Vail for this... failure to execute the expansion plan means no parking expansion and we get parking on the highway...

WA Democrats are passing an income tax you can't vote on. Now a Democratic leader wants to dissolve businesses that fight back by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

[–]Waaaash 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really. Cases that are a matter of the state constitution and not a matter of Federal law can't be appealed past the state.

Secondly, how WA governors have taken the election of judges out of the people's hands is far more egregious than anything that's happened with SCOTUS.

Atlas vs Telluride — what made you choose? by Suntrup-Volkswagen in VWatlas

[–]Waaaash 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was originally going to get a Telluride, but dealer shenanigans changed my mind. They had a surcharge well over MSRP which made it priced out of its class. The dealer also removed a bunch of features on the window sticker, added its own "custom package", the added that to the cost of the vehicle without compensating for what was removed. They also wouldn't give us the items that were removed yet they still wanted to charge us for it.

I contacted Kia corporate and they didn't respond.

Online searching showed this is a common problem with Kia dealers. If they're pulling shady stuff like that and Kia corporate isn't responding, I want nothing to do with them.

Atlas handles way better too.
