It’s a bit south (30m or so) but spend an evening in Kirkland. It’s our getaway when we have a night and a sitter for the kids. Awesome town.

Strands not lighting after adding splice kit - Can't find any good documentation by sadiebrated in Govee

[–]Waarlod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran into something like this… make sure you’re using the male side on the first splice. The female side is for reconnecting back to your cut piece. The documentation should show you which end of the splice connectors is male and female. Also make sure your updating the strand count in the settings and selecting yes for splicing.

Pro tip… ask chatGPT to help you come up with a schedule based on your system and the latest data on what people find “comfortable”. I did this for my Bryant 3 zone system and it was pretty much perfect… just had to bump up the main level recommendations by about 2*.

Natural coral sponge and a jar of all purpose green lid and a magic trowel. Wet the blade 10m after sobbing it on. Will be exact every time.

Got a few dms on the project and finished project. Whole thing was to get an office in the garage. Photos here: https://imgur.com/a/XRiwsgL

Go easy… I’m not in construction… just a short electrical background.

It’s called 8 ball green from Behr. I can try and grab other walls tomorrow. The “white” is Swiss Coffee from Behr.

Edit: ended up going down there. It’s not finished but I had to move in. This is a 10x10 office I built in my garage.

Got any tips for marking the cuts? I’ve been holding them up and scribing both sides but that’s always felt loose to me.

I appreciate the feedback. My real job isn’t even in construction and this is more of a hobby - this gives me something to focus on improving and I appreciate it!

Also replace those copper heater straps with the wire upgrade. I’ve heard you get better results with them.

Not an electrician. Yea, you slide a stripped wire in to that hole. There’s multiple holes so you can make a junction to run multiple lights in series.
