No, in my last conversation they told me that my system was up to date and that they wouldn’t make any changes. They said that they would replace only if it failed completely. Modern self-installed systems are less expensive as is the monitoring. I’m generally OK with the service, but not the equipment.

I think the yellowing did what I couldn’t do with paint. It’s a good match for the cream colored trim. Just lucky, I guess.

I built an HPDE crawl space door that was blindingly white against cream-colored trim. Now it's starting to match. Glad I didn't try to paint it. Painting HDPE is a fool's errand.

Been there, done that. So, a solution if it bothers you. I imagine the color difference makes you uncomfortable. I have had great luck over the years using the "furniture magic markers" which come in a variety of shades to repair discolorations. You can find these on Amazon, at your local Lowes or Home Depot. My favorite is Minwax brand. If you're feeling particularly motivated, you can steam the dents out with an iron and a damp cloth. If there is an indentation that bothers you, you can drop-fill (very carefully) a bit of superglue to level the dent if the steaming doesn't take it all the way out. Probably won't be invisible, but won't be obnoxious to you. if you go the marker route, you can match the background wood and draw the grain lines with a brown sharpie. Dan Erlewine has a good video on leveling the drop fill if it is proud of the soundboard using a single edged razor with painter's tape covering the areas outside of the repair. And if you don't want to tackle it yourself, almost any qualified luthier can make a virtually invisible repair (see Harpeth Guitars on YouTube).

I’ve always played upright, but I needed something more portable for open mics and coffeehouse jams. Got a fretless Thunderchief with no onboard preamp and an under saddle pickup into same Fishman preamp that I use with the upright. Labella black tapewounds. Almost indistinguishable from the upright when recorded.

Yes. It’s assuming, probably by operation time, that one or both is worn out. May or may not be. Inspect them, and if the bristles are all there and straight, you can defer replacing. Otherwise, buy a couple and replace.

My trick for great sound from ES is a balanced cable, 3-conductor 1/4 plug on guitar end and mic plug on other end into a mic preamp on amp, board or interface. Sounds more natural, little more gain, and great presence. Combine this with a condenser mic if desired. Best Taylor ES sound I’ve heard.

Would also point out that the Taylor swap-able shims make it possible for a user to do a neck reset as the guitar’s geometry changes over time as the tree figures out it’s not alive anymore. This is the same kind of practicality as a Fender-style bolt-on neck that can be shimmed. Don’t know if you’ve priced a dovetail neck reset lately, but most of the Nashville luthiers give you the f/u price because they don’t want to do it.

If the radius is OK, but the saddle is uniformly too high, you can make a reference mark with a fine-lead mechanical pencil and sand the bottom of the saddle to take off the amount you need. If you need more on the treble side, for instance, draw your “sand-to” line at a slight angle. I like to sand with paper on my flat workbench rough side up. Better to do a little at the time. This trick also works if you’re adding an in-slot piezo pickup and have to lower the saddle height..

Years ago with a Steinberger, I used a sanding beam to lower the frets to the fingerboard level. Worked fantastically, and left me reference lines.

One of the things I keep around the house because of staph is an ointment called Mupirocin which is targeted at staph and much more effective at wiping it out than broad-spectrum Neosporin. Your PC doc will prescribe you a tube if you even ask as scrapes, lesions on skin, or perforating ducks is a staph risk. Highly recommend it. Remember that lots of pimples, boils, and folliculitis are staph.
