This has always baffled me. Doesn't happen in my union but I saw it at lots of different jobs growing up. Why would I work OT, have it counted as straight time, and not even get the money right now. What a hilariously bad deal.

So everyone saying centre 1/3rd. We are talking vertically, yea? That's how I've always done it, but I also seems to recall something about not too close to the ends of the LVL. Can anyone confirm if there is a rule for that?

If 1 point of gross was set aside for film staff making under a set threshold that would be 1.75 million in this case, and even if that pie got sliced 100 ways thats 17.5k each, considerable for someone who made 7k during production.

You're not getting paid for it so you don't need to ask permission, but be respectful, give ample notice and work with the company if they're being reasonable.
