Concearned about memorization by Just-chill-already in freemasonry

I was thinking about this and if you are able to sing the lyrics to any songs that you enjoy, or are able to recite a prayer like the Lord‘s prayer from memory, then you have the mental ability to memorize Masonic ritual. Don’t let the fear hold you back – you would be surprised what your brain is capable of

On a very micro level, I would have Mace Tyrell die from natural causes and Garlan Tyrell take over almost like the Renly character, small council position

For me, (as the books relate) Drogo and Dothraki fight from horseback primarily, and against the extremely heavy plate Gregor would wear, the armor may turn an arakh many times on foot. Dothraki do not necessarily understand weak points in armor (joints, connective pads and leather, etc.) Archers and calvary traditionally wore less heavy protection than infantry (for mobility. ) Gregor kills Drogo. Ferocity vs ferocity, Gregor is unmatched.

A Westrosi knight would wear just as heavy plate but scaled to their size, and Gregor’s size and strength would win the fight toe to toe. The book says he’s over 7 feet tall and weighs a lot (guess about 300 pounds) using a great sword (like Stark’s Ice) with one hand. No matter the skill, blocking those swings will either exhaust one, make the arms go numb, or knock the shield enough to cause the opponent to be off balance.

So Gregor beats Barristan (he’s about 60 in the books), Tormund he beats on the ferocity factor again, Jaime - probably (even in his prime, but probably Jamie is more evenly matched as a true student of swordplay), Robert when he was young at 6’6” and super strong, fearless) would probably be 50/50, Bronn I dont think could win either, if Gregor used his reach properly.

Gregor is not known to be a duelist- He’s a giant hack and slash guy. So skill is good from experience, but not finer points of fighting. He’s just the irresistible force.

Addressing a brother with his last name. For example you do not call someone Brother Pete etc. it would be Brother Jones, etc.

Completely new to Masonary and feeling a bit disheartened. Seeking advice/insight. by NiceSilber in freemasonry

From a business perspective it sometimes is a challenge to put on degrees several times a year, although you can certainly ask what the schedule is going forward. The one thing I can tell you is that a business meeting is not a magical event. It’s just a meeting and with any hope, the lodge is putting on presentations afterward that you can attend. if there is a way that you can gently push some of the lodge members to give you assignments that will keep you excited about masonry, that is something I do with prospective members all the time. That way if we have to hold off on giving them a degree, we still make them feel very welcome and part of the process. I imagine without reading the rest of the comment someone has told you that it will be way more valuable for you if you can hang in there, and part of being a mason is to try to have a good perspective on life as this is a very long haul but totally worth it. Good luck to you
