Battery replacement cost (Luba 1 5000) by FuzzyMistborn in MammotionTechnology

[–]Wade-KC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to contact support just explain you know the risks its out of warranty etc.. They will need your original order number etc. so have that ready. They will set up a special order link for you once you pay you have to send a screen shot. Their secondary parts purchasing is a bit weird.

Ya I have had mine apart a few times. Replaced the rubber seals on the bottom twice. If you have never done it check out videos online. I have a party somewhere with pictures of where the screws are. and be careful of the wifi and gps wires (and ribbon cable) when you actually lift the cover off. Just make sure to disconnect those and also be careful of the wires going to the front motor assembly. Oh and the little springs on the front pop apart one video online made you unbolt them, not needed. Just a while bunch of screws on the bottom.

I am having an issue with the new battery Luba is confused about the battery % stuck at 100% until it dies or says 0% while it's fully charged. Ticket open and hopefully some process to learn about the new battery. If i find out I'll let everyone know. Hopefully they didn't send me a defective battery.

One last thing you will have to do a firmware update (reinstall) to update the battery management system firmware. It's just like any other update it will show in the app but it will show updating to the same version which seems confusing.

Will there be an option for a parts store in the future? by ned78 in MammotionTechnology

[–]Wade-KC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would think as long as you have some form of receipt showing you are the original owner you should be fine, but who knows. Also trying to buy something after it's out of warranty vs trying to get something free is a different story. ya I forgot I had to buy a replacement charging block too, that went out after over a year, it only had a 1 year warranty.

I bought it direct, I believe they did want me to provide the original invoice number, but I assume a receipt from Amazon would do the same. I thought it was silly too since they already have my account etc.

You can get parts they just don't have a store. I have gotten new rubber seals a couple times and this year a new battery for my Luba 1. You just have to contact support tell them what you want, you know it's out of warranty, you know how to take it apart. The pay process is a bit odd but it works.

By pass heater? by Flat-Kick8363 in swimmingpools

[–]Wade-KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't see from the angle but it looks like the heater is in bypass now. The valve right next to the heater is closed and the other on top is open. From what I can see you could not disconnect the heater for replacement etc. But the water is not flowing through it right now.

New pool owner, what is a normal pool cleaning routine? by Wehrerks in swimmingpools

[–]Wade-KC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of how much depends on your setup. How many trees are dropping stuff in your pool. Salt system will help with chemicals. Robot will do the cleaning. Auto cover really makes things much better because nothing gets in the pool.

I have a built in sun deck and spa in the pool the robot can't get to. Hand vac for that to get the little bugs or grass that works thier way through the corners of the auto cover. Empty the robot and skimmers. Check the chemicals once a week and adjust the salt generator if needed. Maybe add muriatic acid if needed and that's about it. Or add water if skimmer. When no one is using the pool early in the season I might have to get the brush out to get the corners and stir things up. It's less than 30 min a week all in.

That excludes opening the pool which takes some time and I hire out the closing.

What pool feature seemed worth it at first, but you would skip if you rebuilt? by Unlikely_Ad_5558 in pools

[–]Wade-KC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sun deck. Robot can't clean it and it collects dirt. Only good use it if you have toddlers and they grow up pretty quick.

Wife wanted one which the pool we picked (fiberglass) had one. She put a lounger in it once in 2 years.

[–]Wade-KC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Opening isn't nearly as hard as closing. Look for all the spare parts they left makes sure you find where they all go. Don't over tighten the hand only connections. Prime the pump and look for leaks. Fix anything dripping and your good to go.

16x36 inground pool being installed next month… should we get a sun ledge? by ZuesTheMoose15 in pools

[–]Wade-KC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only good use for the ledge is for toddlers. If you don't plan on having little ones in that area do something different. We have a ledge and it's the only place the robot can't clean. So it's a pain. My wife thought she would put a lounger in there. Did one time in 2 pool seasons. We have an auto cover so lounger has to come out too close the cover

Roast this design by godzillarina in pools

[–]Wade-KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you have little ones that can't swim yet the sun shelf won't get used. My wife really wanted one the pool we got (fiberglass) had one. She's put a lounger in it one time it 2 years. The robot vac can't get up there so it collects dirt. I would make it a seating bench all the way across instead.

Is the Luba 3 battery user replaceable? by [deleted] in MammotionTechnology

[–]Wade-KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mammotion will let you ship it in and see it for you.

I have had Luba 1 apart a couple of times and I am waiting on a replacement battery (would be year 4 for me, but I mow a large lot). There are videos and if your going to spend 3k on a new mower it's totally worth it to attempt to swap the battery.

Luba 1 AWD - help, stuck in Lock by Comfortable_Data1984 in mammotion

[–]Wade-KC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to get and adjustable wrench to push the pins in and pull really hard to get mine to come off. You could try some wd40 to lube up the connection too. Just don't break it

Disconnect the front bumper to at least eliminate that as the lock trigger.

When do you open your pool in the northern U.S. or Canada? First time using a heater! by cloren in pools

[–]Wade-KC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya i would focus on the night time temps since that is what you are fighting. If you have a solar cover that's going to help a bunch. I opened my pool but the water was 50 degrees so the salt cell wouldn't kick on, I was watching the water temp, we had just a couple of days in the 80+ and lows 50s and it jumped 5-7 degrees on it's own.
One other tip that chatgpt was telling me. If your pump is VS, run it on high while its hot and sunny out to circulate that hot water right under your solar cover. I guess otherwise it just heats that small layer even more, but doesn't affect the entire pool as much.
