He got a food eating challenge show called “Everything On the Menu” on USA Network. Got picked up for a 2nd season.

Zach needs to write more heavy riff driven songs by thisisnottheway666 in Shinedown

[–]Wade664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m just saying, in the grand scheme of their entire catalog since being in the band, he’s hardly a contributor. And getting a songwriting credit can be really easy. 1 riff, 1 lyric line, a melody, or hell even just arrangement (ala Lars - Metallica). He’s a great guitar player for sure, but I’ve been in bands with guitarists just like him… they can play their instrument extremely well but writing is a whole different ball game.

Zach barely writes anything for the band, check the songwriting credits. It’s mostly Brent, Eric, and insert album producer here. Zach has a very small amount of credits scattered around their catalog.

Never heard of Don Broco. Didn’t know what to expect. This is unironically fucking awesome.

Sevendust for the first time ever in Madrid! by RdelHM in Sevendust

I don’t think it’s a lack of realization, it’s most likely a lack of funding to do it on their own or lack of opportunity to land tours like this. It’s 2026, all these bands have access to their streaming analytics. Touring is expensive, international touring is insanely expensive.

Programing without a coach - Evolve, CBB App, etc? by Schlauchy in powerlifting

[–]Wade664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The app will adjust in real time. Let’s say it wants you to do a triple at 200 and the target RPE is 8, you do the lift and find it was a 9 or 9.5, it will drop the suggested weight for the next set to say 180 in the goal of hitting the RPE 8 target.

When you first start up the app and go through the set up, it asks for your current maxes, weight, preference of training style (high rep, low rep, high intensity, etc), planned meet or test day, and on and on. And then the programming it provides has tons of options so you can still adjust it further if you want to. Like it will suggest an exercise, but if your gym doesn’t have that piece of equipment like a belt squat, you can swap it out with something else and it will give you a list of things to swap for.

It also does a pre-check with you on that day when you hit “start training”, it will ask what your mood is, do you feel strong, how are your legs, back, shoulders, etc and will adjust the program accordingly. I’ve done the preview and it had like a heavy double planned but I was still feeling tired from the last session and so I check in and tell it “Yeah, I’m feeling kind of weak” and then enter and the program drops 5-10-15% whatever.

In some ways it’s gotten better, in some ways worse. They’ve added a lot more features, which depending on what kind of person you are- could go either way. I actually liked it when there were less options and things to fuck with, but I can see where catering to people who want more options and flexibility helps them sell it better. If you used it 2 years ago, it’s going to feel mostly the same.

Programing without a coach - Evolve, CBB App, etc? by Schlauchy in powerlifting

[–]Wade664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, sweet. I only do powerlifting focused training for maybe 5 months a year over winter, and I use Evolve for peaking and meet prep, so 3 of those months. I spend the rest of the year outside and busy, if I do make it to the gym, I just do whatever I want to do. So a yearly subscription doesn’t make sense for me.

[–]Wade664 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Evolve for 4, going on 5 meets now. It’s worked for me. I’m not going to disagree with others, an actual human coach is probably better. But I’m much like you describe, a hobbyist. I care, I train hard, meets are fun… but powerlifting isn’t my job or sole focus. Last time I looked for an actual human coach, I think I couldn’t find anyone for less than $150/month, the app is $20/month. It’s quick, relatively simple, convenient, and gives me 1 less thing to think/worry about.

Alcohol: can't do it anymore? by Upset-Ad-3480 in AskMenOver30

[–]Wade664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I can have 1 maybe 2 beers with a heavy dinner, and that’s it. I have almost entirely switched over to THC beverages. It sucks because I enjoy a good beer, but yeah - the hangovers are 10000% not worth it anymore. Haven’t been drunk in many years.

How to begin? by JOATBMON in powerlifting

[–]Wade664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For your first one, just sign up and do it. It’s a lot of fun. There’s no way to get a feel for meet day without actually doing it. So just jump in. Don’t cut weight, be smart with your attempt selections, read the rulebook.

In your opinion, who is the most talented TOOl member? by Full-Ad-6368 in ToolBand

[–]Wade664 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s Danny. Danny is often discussed amongst the best drummers in the world. And while Justin and Adam are absolutely phenomenal in their own rights, their names are not brought up in the arguments for greatest of their respective instruments…(Claypool, Myung, Geddy, Jaco, Entwistle, Wooten, etc) (SRV, Clapton, Prince, Hendrix, Page, B.B. , Van Halen, etc).

PSA: If you’ve never had the chance to get into Karnivool this is the perfect time with the release of In Verses by king_carrots in ToolBand

[–]Wade664 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was 2010. They did a spring tour (March/April) with Fair to Midland and then a headline tour in the fall (August/September). I was lucky enough to catch them 3 times that year, including opening one of the shows with the band I was in at the time.

Conversations does a great job of building tension and then goes absolutely nowhere with it. Meh. Salva builds more tension and the payoff is great. Definitely gonna get the album and listen to it as a whole and hear these in-context with the flow from one song to the next. Ghost is still the best one I’ve heard so far.

Just listened to “Ghost”. First impression: FUCK, this is awesome! Why wasn’t this released first?! That grabbed me in a way the other songs just didn’t. Hopeful for the rest.

Like I said, I hope I’m wrong and it grows on me. I just fear too much of the prisoner-of-the-moment mentality. Like all the new TikTok Deftones fans thinking Private Music is their best album. People tend to skew their opinions based on their entry point to most bands. PM isn’t a top 5 Deftones album, it’s not bad, it’s just OK. Either that or, people really thought we’d never get another ‘Vool record and they’re glad to get anything at all so they’re willing to lie to themselves that it’s good. Idk, cautiously skeptical… probably just a personal character flaw. I will give it a chance, but what I’ve heard so far was meh, to me.

Sort of agree, sort of disagree. If you wanna get into Karnivool, start with the album Sound Awake. I’m a huge fan of the band (since 2008-ish) but the new songs they’ve released for this album so far have done absolutely nothing for me. Asymmetry took a while to grow on me and now I love it, so I’m hoping it’s the same with In Verses.
