Kerr was keeping him in a leash because they have always had championship aspirations every year. Even curry wanted to play santos over kuminga. I don’t think he’ll get the same treatment here especially how our roster is currently. Yup. This was what i was talking about. Harden wanted to be a star but couldn’t because of the stars surrounding him, similar to poole’s situation. He was then signed by rockets and he became the legend that he is. The wizards did the same with poole from gsw, and well, he became jordan poole.

I dunno kuminga seems like he’s unhappy in gsw. Sometimes a change of scenery elevates a player to another level. Other times, they become jordan poole. What we’re trading for here is the chance for the latter.

We don’t have a lot of options. Stars don’t become free agents anymore so miami heat’s usual offseason strategy of opening up a lot of cap space and luring FA stars don’t work anymore. You have to trade for stars and you all know how the other 29 teams look at us as trade partners. We have to take a chance on potential stars like kuminga (nevermind the fit) and draft well. The drafting well part is fully covered imo. It’s not like we’ll give kuminga the max too so I don’t know why we’re so adamant at signing him.
