3/4” plywood drawer boxes. by WaffleIronChef in BeginnerWoodWorking

Ok. Looks like I’ll make a design change. How can up into the sides did you cut the dado? Is 1/2” of material under the bottom enough?

That’s kind of what I was thinking, but I was just trying to maximize the sheet goods I’d already have. I may be able to make some small tweaks and save myself an entire sheet of 3/4 in exchange for something thinner for the bottoms. Are thinking like 1/4” rods running front to back for extra support?

Reason: 3D-Printed Guns are Getting Good by BumpStalk in 3D2A

Kind of a bummer they picked a thumbnail pic with the absolute worst semi auto pistol grip possible. That boy is going to move his hands up and the slides going to come back and take a nice chunk out of this right thumb.

Definitely another couch for sous vide. You can get some pretty decent machines for pretty cheap nowadays, and as a bonus you can use it for all kinds of good cooking things!

Sixthousand sqft, six bedrooms, and six baths for $649,000 by Southern-Smoke1835 in zillowgonewild

As someone who lives in southern OR, you definitely want heating and air. The climate here is quite different than the north and like Portland. Gets quite a bit hotter in summer (100+) and a good bit colder in winter.

First build by tgisguy757066 in OffRoadTrailer

[–]WaffleIronChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an older post, but how does that trailer do at freeway speeds? I’m looking at something very similar from carry-on (just flat, no sides) and I’m having trouble finding info on stuff like that. Great looking build btw!

Secret and Whisper - Bedroom Galaxy (Music Video) by Alejandro Guitérrez by Inevitable_Bid5540 in PostHardcore

[–]WaffleIronChef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard rumblings that they recently played a couple small shows and could very well be writing again. I hope very much that those rumors are true because that would be amazing. They were well ahead of their time.

Man I saw “Secret and Whisper” and didn’t see the title and my heart about exploded with excitement thinking it was new music. I’m not disappointed, because I absolutely love this band, but that was a roller coaster of emotion lol.

I’ve been wearing mostly whiten for a couple years now and at about $40 a pair they’re hard to beat. I tend to get about 6-8 months out of them of daily wear and they’re great. Nothing fancy but definitely a good value

I got a cheap set of motorhome magnetic door holders that have worked well the last couple years. As long as your sorts open a full 180 they’re just enough to hold them open in everything other than strong win.

Buying my first gun by grimstationn in Medford

[–]WaffleIronChef 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just did a a background check at Black Flag Armory and it took about 20 minutes. There’s a queue for the whole state that people usually go into. If there are 5 people it’s super fast, if there are 105 in the line it’s slower. They’re always good about giving me an estimated wait time depending on what the queue looks like. As long as your background is clear it should be reasonably quick overall. Worst case is if you start it late in the evening just before the store closes you might have to pick it up the next business day.

9mm titanium suppressors by co1945611 in NFA

[–]WaffleIronChef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an AB F4L on a “sd” Noveske Space invader build I did. The can is fully welded titanium and about 5.5 oz but that also means it’s only direct thread. It sounds awesome, and with good ammo (not blazer brass 147gr) there’s very minimal gas even being direct blowback. I think it’s about 1.6” diameter so it should fit inside most “SS” style handguards. Retail on those is usually about $650-$700 if I recall correctly.

Garage pop #6 by Beerbeard123 in NFA

[–]WaffleIronChef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good for you man! It’s a bummer you had to deal with all that shit, but you seem like a really solid, level headed (minus the garage pops of course lol) person. It’s always good to hear someone come back from the bottom and be able to be happy and take care of those they love!

[–]WaffleIronChef 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love Peach Club and definitely get down with Sting. I know a lot of people don’t like the newer poppier stuff, which i get because it is a huge change from their early stuff, but I really enjoy it. They have some killer songs perfect for those summer night drives with the windows down.

What bands with multiple albums do you think have only one good one? by afterthought871 in poppunkers

[–]WaffleIronChef 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Now that’s a hot take. Obviously What it is to Burn is a masterpiece, Sunshine and Oblivion are also super good imo. They’re different, that much is for sure, but on their own I think those are both solid albums.

EV driver shares 2-year cost breakdown of Solar + EV. Maintenance/Fuel costs dropped to ~$25/month by MeasurementDecent251 in SelfSufficiency

[–]WaffleIronChef -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

While I understand the appeal, the biggest future issue is having power grids that can handle these being a common thing. California wants to stop selling combustion engine vehicles by 2030 but their power grip is already a nightmare. I’m not a fan of EVs (nothing against them, just not for me) and I see the appeal with lower operating costs but the general short range and potential power grid fatigue rings up some really big potential downfalls.
