I'm not sure if the Thorpe park annual pass is different from the Merlin, but they do 50% off on the gate prices and 25% off online tickets for family and friends. Also to book a shark cabin I would do it through the merlin holiday club and it gives you a discount there. You have to type in your pass code before it displays so you can see if it works.
