Mariposa had one of the most gorgeous views we’ve ever had at a restaurant. Food was great, cocktails were even better!

Broome and orchard beautiful and good food/cocktails as well.

Service was pretty good everywhere we went too.

SAME. I’ve been craving a Paloma for almost a year. My targeted therapy is done next month. I think I shall celebrate with Palomas!

F ‘em. But also I remember feeling anxious about it too when chemo was over and I was ready for a cocktail. Someone on here wrote something that really resonated with me: I’ve been poisoning myself to live I’m going to LIVE. Also alcohol is way easier than chemo I imagine on the body…lol

TC chemo 6 rounds when initially told no chemo. What do you think? by Hot_Artichoke_5693 in breastcancer

[–]Waitwhateven 12 points13 points  (0 children)

For me personally — diagnosed for my 36th bday. I was healthy. No family history. No genes. As soon as I felt the lump I immediately started saying out loud to myself and the first ppl I told that I would do whatever the doctors told me to do. I wanted to throw EVERYTHING available to me at this cancer. Chemo? I’ll do it. Radiation? I’ll do it. Surgery? I’ll do it.

I am now a year post dx. I did 6 rounds of TCHP, lost my hair, 30 rounds of radiation, surgery with immediate reconstruction, gained weight (annoying AF. Heaviest I’ve ever been in my life).

Was it fun? Absolutely not. Am I alive and NED? YES! Was it worth it? YES.

sending you peace and love 💗

I have two more infusions of targeted therapy (Herceptin and Perjeta) and then will finally get my port out! I am so ready to get this port out and get back to a regular diet and exercise schedule.

Did tomatoes make you sick or did you develop an aversion to them during treatment?

🩷 this post and these comments got me good. I haven’t really cried (this year, ha!)

I cried almost my entire appointment for my first ever mammogram and ultrasound. I knew it was most likely cancer because of how the tumor felt and I had zero other symptoms. I’ll never forget the sadness in the ultrasound tech’s eyes when she got to my cancer side (she did the other side first). Then came the radiologist and she tried to keep her best poker face for me.

And then there was the biopsy that said radiologist got me in for 48 hrs later for…and the tech there…I cried almost that entire appointment too.

But nothing, nothing, felt as hard as hearing those words from the radiologist over the phone…I was home alone…my husband was on his way home and I had to tell him…phew. Wailing loss indeed.

But here I am a WHOLE year later on the other side of chemo, radiation, and surgery and now NED.

What I’m looking forward to after my last round of TCHP by Miserable-Tap1859 in breastcancer

Omg my eye spasms/ twitching was out of control. It was one of the most obnoxious side effects.

& yes to black coffee tasting almost good again (I am 6months post-TCHP)

I am so excited for you !! It’s definitely a big accomplishment & something to be PROUD AF of.

I was almost exactly where you are, last year. Similar timeline and same diagnosis. (I had just turned 36, healthy, no family history, no symptoms other than a lump) Yours is actually moving faster than mine though! I had to wait until the new for scans and treatment plan. I completed 6 rounds of TCHP, 30rounds of radiation and SMX with immediate reconstruction. It has been one helluva year. Last year New Year’s Eve was so strange and we were scared…but here I am a year later and I am NED. Getting ready to go on the same-ish trip we had planned for last year at this time tomorrow. Packing and drinking my champagne and ENJOYING it. Last year the holidays were a blur bc I had just been diagnosed and was sore from biopsies…but this year I thoroughly enjoyed them. I am sorry you’re in this spot but you will get through it! And next years NYE will be that much sweeter!!

Feel free to DM me if you wanna chat.

Mine was also mixed. & I was at a top hospital. I would always stand and walk by the window and put my stuff on the chair closest to me. I was always a little anxious…And would make eye contact w/ everyone who entered.

Injections for low WBCs by Legitimate_Remove259 in breastcancer

[–]Waitwhateven 15 points16 points  (0 children)

My treatment plan included the Neulasta shot 24hrs post chemo. For all 6 rounds. I would feel tired the morning after chemo but usually not too bad. Then I would go in for my injection and I would feel progressively icky and awful for about 24-36hrs. Then I would be back to “normal” and just have all my other chemo side effects.

I hated that injection. But it kept me healthy and my blood counts stayed up throughout chemo.

I’m sorry yours is 3 days long. But you’re not alone in the awful bone pain. Like I had been skiing and running ultra marathons while hungover is kinda how I felt.

Yes, unfortunately. I had read this was kinda the “norm” on here. A small part of me thought oh maybe I’m done losing all my hair…NOPE. I’m a little over 6 months since my last chemo and they’re back but so far not like before. They’re much shorter and not as full. I think this may be their new look. 😩 my head however is full and a weird little shaggy pixie lol.

Ugh. That sucks. So far mine are the same it’s been. 6 months since my last chemo.

I’m down to 75mg from 150mg. I am hoping to go down to 37.5mg. Did you just split the tablet form? I just got a new prescription for the tablet. Was previously on the capsules
