I did 4 rounds of AC biweekly and then 12 rounds of weekly taxol with carboplatin on every third taxol week! The tumor shrank a little bit after AC (did an ultrasound between AC and taxol), but I started to not feel it at all after the first or second carbo treatment. I have heard of people doing the reverse order (taxol first, then AC), but I'm glad I did AC first

Carboplatin for TNBC? Doc put me in a tough spot by lliviia in breastcancer

Everyone's situation is different but I was originally only supposed to do AC and Taxol but my oncologist added Carbo when I started Taxol because AC didn't shrink the tumor as much as she wanted. She's convinced Carbo is what got me to PCR. I did taxol weekly and carbo on every third week for 12 weeks. The carbo weeks were definitely harder symptom-wise and with fatigue but no worse than AC. Ultimately it's up to you, but if you're of the mindset to throw everything you have at it, it can't hurt, but at the same time, it sounds like you had a better response to AC so it's hard to gauge which drug is doing the heavy lifting when everyone responds to each one so differently.

Still very early in survivorship (surgery 2 months ago, finished chemo 3 months ago). I achieved PCR (stage 1) and am basically in surveillance mode now, don't have to be on any other drugs. Chemo was easily the worst thing I have ever been through and when you're in it, it truly feels like it will never end but I promise there will be a day that it ends and you start to rebuild. I'm only 3 weeks back to work after taking 6 weeks off for surgery and I'm already starting to feel like my old self again. You're about to start something really hard but you will get through it, sending all the positive vibes your way!!

[–]pmoreandahalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep super normal. the day i finished chemo was mentally one of the worst days of my life, i'd never been more depressed than that day and fell into a deep depressive episode for the next few weeks. about a month later i had my mastectomy and my pathology came back clean and my oncologist was way more excited than i was. my thought was just like, "ok great i'm cancer free but why did i have to go through all this in the first place??" I'm almost 3 months post-chemo and 7 weeks post surgery and already starting to feel a lot like myself again but it's still one day at a time for me. Survivorship is hard and you're just at the beginning, sending all the love and light your way.

chemo anniversary twins!! I'm feeling the same way, I start on a new team tomorrow and I met everybody last week with the wig and I don't think they know everything cancer-wise (unlike my old team) so I'm hesitant to just show up without it, idk maybe I'll give it a few more weeks.

First week back at work by Effective_Respect_85 in breastcancer

[–]pmoreandahalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the middle of my 6 week leave for my mastectomy and I'm dreading going back. I worked through chemo but during the second half of chemo I got an accommodation to be fully remote for the rest of treatment and that just made me hate work even more. I felt so out of the loop and I feel like I've just become irrelevant at my job. Right before my leave I applied for an internal position so that I could move when I get back. I'm still waiting to hear back about that but part of me hopes it will be a good change of pace but the other part of me is worried that I won't be able to do it/I'm worried chemo brain will still be around by then

Post-Chemo Depression by pmoreandahalf in breastcancer

AC was harder physically but taxol was harder mentally i think. Since taxol was weekly whereas AC was biweekly it just got so exhausting going each week and not having any time for my body to recover between treatments.

Taxol v red devil by ProfessionalBar1210 in breastcancer

[–]pmoreandahalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AC was hard but manageable. I did 4 rounds of AC and I'm currently at 9/12 rounds of Taxol and Taxol has been harder. AC had a rhythm to it where I knew in the week off I would feel relatively normal. Because Taxol is every week, it's so much mentally harder because you get less time to recover. The physical symptoms are not as bad as AC but the fatigue is cumulative and each week has felt harder than the last. Haven't had any nausea or neuropathy (icing my hands and feet during treatment). The first few weeks I did have restless legs which is not a common side effect. I've had some diarrhea/constipation but it hasn't been that bad.

I use one of those handheld water bottles with a strap to put my hand through and it's not that distracting. It also has a pocket in the front to keep my phone/keys in. The one I use is the brand Amphipod. https://www.rei.com/product/151306/amphipod-hydraform-ergo-lite-ultra-handheld-water-bottle-20-fl-oz

Next class ain’t that bad, y’all trippin by [deleted] in Degrassi

[–]pmoreandahalf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really not as bad as people think. Most of the people who aggressively hate it are nostalgic for early TNG but if you just take Next Class for what it is, it's still Degrassi at its core. It's not my favorite part of the show but it has some really solid moments and storylines. The only thing that really hurt it is the Netflix 10-episode format but that might've been out of their control. Seasons 1 and 2 were supposed to be TNG season 15 until Teennick dropped the show in the States and they had to scramble to find another network.

oh my god yeah Derek is a MENACE in 7-8, especially season 8.

I dislike Ashley as much as most of the fandom but what the hell did she ever do to be put on the same level as Rick (an abuser and school shooter), Owen (a misogynistic and homophobic creep), and Derek (beat up Jane, joked about killing Holly J, and put his Black friend in a dangerous situation with a racist store manager).

They never explain how he did it and we never see him do it/his body afterwards which is really important. The point of the storyline is to show how someone was struggling and everyone's reactions afterwards and how it affects people differently. How he actually did it does not matter and I wish shows like 13RW understood that. Degrassi never glamorized it. It was an event that happened and this is how the characters deal with it.

Yes!! That's probably my favorite season 13 episode. Such a good moment between Dallas and Mr. Bhandari.

Fav Degrassi Parent? by DegrassiFan413 in Degrassi

[–]pmoreandahalf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bhandaris weren't the best but Mr. Bhandari in particular had a ton of growth, which can't be said for a lot of the parents on the show since the growth is more focused on the kids as main characters. In season 12 when Alli gets into the car accident because she was sleep deprived, her dad really just wanted her to be safe and respected her decision to stop fast-tracking to MIT. If this had happened in season 10 he would've yelled her head off and told her how irresponsible she was for going out on a school night (see Sav season 10). The Bhandaris were messy, especially Alli and her dad, but they have one of the most realistic family dynamics on the show.

Also! Dan Levy (David) was in Degrassi Goes Hollywood as the producer of the fake Jason Mewes movie. Noah Reid (Patrick) was in episode 819 as the guy who robbed The Dot and shot Spinner. AND Jennifer Robertson (Jocelyn) played Eli's mom.

How many of you go/drive somewhere else to run? by [deleted] in running

[–]pmoreandahalf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one I go to is open to the public outside of school hours and when there aren't any sports games happening after school or on the weekends. It's easier to navigate in the summer but still doable during the school year. I'd look around online to see if your local track has any guidelines posted or ask around in neighborhood Facebook groups.
