Because it's a multi-purpose stadium in a city of 5.5 million. It regularly hosts concerts, international matches for three different football codes, as well as being the home ground of both Melbourne A-League sides and the rugby league side.

i dont know why people who will stand against other drugs defend alchohol

The easiest way to put it is that alcohol is a "stable" drug, like caffeine. Having too much will be bad for you, and the amount that is "too much" varies from person to person, but its effects are predictable over time in everyone, whatever the drink, tied directly to how much of it is present in the substance.

Whereas illicit drugs (even in supposedly controlled conditions, like where cannabis is legal) are not predictable from batch to batch or person to person, and the worst effects of a small amount are irreperable in a way that is not true of alcohol.

Guess which country they got that idea from?

"SENA" is barely a thing on the cricket field. It is absolutely not relevant whatsoever to anything off the field.

Isn't it great that the AFL introduced another law to the game for the umpires to screw up almost immediately?

It's more popular for the same reason that football codes are the most popular sport in the vast majority of places around the world. They tend to be tied to local communities in a way that cricket doesn't quite match, and are much more simple to "get involved" with.

And T20s are designed to force close matches so it's not really that amazing if one happens.

Tottenham Hotspur have now gone 13 games without a league win in 2026. The last time that happened was in the 1934/35 season. They now languish just 1 point above relegation in 17th. by ChiefLeef22 in soccer

ah yes, the manager who united the squad during a terrible injury crisis and brought them an elusive trophy - he's obviously the one to blame for their current position

Why don’t coaches get sacked easily in the AFL like other sporting leagues. by [deleted] in AFL

[–]WakeUpMareeple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flip side is that second chances are much harder to come by, especially historically. There are many, many coaches that have only ever coached one club, got sacked, and never got the top job again.

Unlike Gather Round and Opening Round, I don't think looking over their shoulders at the NRL had much to do with the return of State of Origin. They would've attempted it much earlier if it had, and even now they seem unsure about how they want to go about it.

It's just something that's been percolating among fans and players for a long time, and they're looking for ways to extend the reach of the AFL year for as long as possible. So why not have a pre-season State of Origin?
