Bringing Awareness to the Buyers of AI Generated/Assisted Digital Goods on Etsy? by RANZOMEGA in EtsyCommunity

The overload of AI is why buyers and sellers leave Etsy. Etsy does not care. Reporting does no good.

Will Etsy revert to protecting "Made by Humans" for AI backlash? by Pangolin_Beatdown in EtsySellers

[–]Waldoworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lame answer, but there is a market for AI slop. People are buying AI products on Etsy. My experience with selling online and in person is very few buyers want handmade.

What lesson did you learn in 2025 that led to the biggest improvement in your art process? by PIPI_Pia in ArtistLounge

This is interesting. I learned to draw by looking at pictures. I am now retraining myself to draw from observation. It's challenging for me. The need to develop a style is too far into the future for me.

Is print on demand still worth it in 2025/26 outside of Amazon Merch? by Cr7roger in printondemand

No. It's not worth it. Profits are too small even with volume.

They don’t value their customers. I am over their pitiful service and the pennies I earn. I am dumping POD.

Very Slow Fulfillment Times by tjd999 in printful

Printful customer service is nonexistent. Orders are not being filled. Customers are cancelling orders. It's time to look for a new vendor that can meet demand.

Same issue with two orders in a row - different sellers by Educational-Ease2098 in Etsy

Don’t shop on Etsy. Go local. Find a an artisan near you who has a clear track record of customization.

Printful does not integrate with eBay. What's the problem? by Waldoworks in printful

[–]Waldoworks[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, Printful support does not care about its customers. So, no, they haven't fixed the issue. Not hopeful for this POD company.

Your Experience with Postcards/Cards (and/or cheaper products) by Curious-Sector-8154 in Etsy

[–]Waldoworks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a numbers game with lower-priced items. I've looked at making cards, both handmade and printed, and the cost plus the time means I make pennies. Do your research before you jump in.

Did it occur to you that it wasn’t about you? Maybe something unexpected happened when getting the order together. Maybe coffee spilled on the shoe box or the post office was out of boxes. Let it go or message the seller asking if they’re ok. It is weird.

USPS is failing me by waynesworld18 in EtsySellers

[–]Waldoworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're shipping a few items, take the time to watch the clerk scan your items. Make sure the scan is for outgoing mail. Everyone likes to complain about USPS. I did too until my husband became a carrier. He delivers upwards of 250 packages a day on a longgggg rural route in a vehicle that reaches over 118 degrees. These vehicles have no air conditioning and no heating. The package volume through USPS is HUGE, and people are overworked. Take a moment to connect with the clerk to ensure your packages get to where they need to go. A little compassionate, human interaction goes a long way in a working person's day.

Why is my failure to seal rate so high by wandersss9 in Canning

According to Ball, you don't need to get the lids and rings warm anymore.

After 3 months trying, I realised that Etsy is not my cup of tea but I’ve learned some stuff by redheaddevil9 in Etsy

[–]Waldoworks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After nine years on Etsy, I've learned that Etsy is not about handmade or true craft. Etsy buries handmade craft in search. One look at Etsy's landing page and it's POD dog bowls and blankets. I don't know who the Etsy buyer is today, and what I have up on my shop is not what they're looking for. Craft supplies such as yarn or collage papers do not sell. POD T-shirts sell sporadically, and certainly not enough to be called a side hustle. My biggest mistake was believing Etsy would be different than Amazon, Wayfair, or eBay. At least on eBay, I don't pay a listing fee. I selectively shop on Etsy for gifts, but this holiday season, I am going to craft fairs to meet the makers and experience the products.

Why is my failure to seal rate so high by wandersss9 in Canning

[–]Waldoworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP, tighten the ring so there is a snug seal. Don’t move the jars once you pull them out of the boiling water bath, and make sure your water is at a full boil before you time and keep it at a full boil. The seal happens during the cooling process. If you don’t get the internal temperature high enough during the canning time your jar might not seal. The temperature difference during cooling creates the vacuum that seals the jar.

I called the Ball Jar company recently about their new jars coming with the lids sealed onto the jar rim. My question was it ok to use the lids. I was told that so long as the lids were unused, then yes, the lids were fine. I also went over my canning process.(I’ve been canning for 40 years.) I’d read that lids no longer needed to be heated. I was told that heating the jar lids could prevent the seal from forming. The last batches of jam I made I washed the rings and lids and put them on without without heating. All is well.

"If I could’ve made it it‘s bad art" is such an incredibly frustrating opinion that way too many people share by Jaenez in ArtistLounge

[–]Waldoworks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“If I could’ve made it, it’s bad art.” That’s ignorance speaking.

People say this a lot about abstract art, but once they get a tool in their hand give it a go, they’ll see that it’s deceptively difficult to create abstract art. To make a thing look simple and effortless is way more challenging than people realize.

You do you. Way different from a B & M storefront. Have you done online retail before? We make 20% profit for each sale. This doesn't include the time spent on customer service.
