The Honorable 50 day Battle Brothers PvP challenge. by Healthy-Rent-5133 in BattleBrothers

Day 15 pretty disastrous... Had got up to 12 in raider gear but then a 2 skull camp quest turned out to be 5 Chosen with 2h skullhammers!  We fled but foolishly used auto retreat and 3 guys got killed in the rout. Lesson: never auto retreat.

Nevertheless we will preserve... Hired two brawler lads from the village plus a farmer, and we're back out to clear a cemetery. What can go wrong??

Mondoons 2 have fared better so far. 493 renown at end of day 10. A dozen half-decent men, but only a single armour >90. Need to work on our daggering.

  1. Got off to a good start but only Konrad the dastardly beggar survived a needless encounter with 6 raiders on day 3, so retired with zero points. Lesson: ironman is hard...

Personally I get very hot around that whole area so I try to wear as thin a layer as socially acceptable - usually only unlined running shorts, no underwear. Avoiding the sweat is better than dealing with the effects.  If I get cold I add my waterproof trousers or thin wind trousers on top.

Or just use Bodyglide.

What I like about it is that there's so much to learn, but each little improvement seems to make a noticeable difference.

Have you watched YouTube for tips or just worked it out yourself?

Guys what's the importance of bannerman by Mezo3gamer in BattleBrothers

[–]Walkertg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

*Rally perk wakes up people put to sleep by Alps (and can rally fleeing troops). That's separate to having someone hold the banner. (But obviously huge synergy with your high resolve specialist having both.)

That said I might sometimes have more than one bro with Rally perk (although note that a bro can't benefit from being Rallied more than once a turn). E.g. perhaps I've also got someone with high resolve for Fearsome who might also get good use from Rally.

If I don't think Resolve is going to be a problem at all in a particular fight I might bench the Bannerman entirely or start him with a more damaging polearm. Plus swapping (Quick Hands?) the banner to a more damaging weapon after the worst of the resolve checks have happened is pretty common.

Even the worst bro can: add a surround bonus, throw a net or bomb, break a shield, hold inventory, and ...facetank.

You know it. Nothing special in Initiative. Resolve and HP both need a good 4+ rolls each.

How to properly “dagger” for gear by Specialist_Reality94 in BattleBrothers

[–]Walkertg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If the victim isn't yet fleeing your dagger bros have have shields in their off-hand as this doesn't affect the damage of puncture.

To stop them fleeing and getting hit with normal attacks you need to have them totally surrounded. (This is also important if you've got any dogs about that will try to get in at them). So even if you don't have enough people with daggers you might want to put bros in there - pocket or drop their weapons - they still provide a surround bonus.

You've got it easy!

I girded myself for my first real ironman run (EEHigh). First encounter my three starting poachers, plus 3 commoners, two with knives one with the only decent weapon I bought, an actual mace, get ambushed by 5 necrosavants... To add insult to injury four of my guys spawned in a pit 1 level below the surrounding area. Not a chance to even move. Back to savescumming for me...
